What is the definition of dating? In a social situation, what are you supposed to do? Especially if you're with someone who is not aware of your social awkwardness... and the other person (male/female) doesn't know that you are /not/ straight.

I'm just curious to know. My education > love life (or lack of one lol), so I don't really care about dating really, but I just want to know more about it as a whole.

Feel free to share your experiences! :)

If you could figure this out, you'd help just about everyone on here.

I'm sorry your thread hasn't really garnered any helpful responses. Try asking it in the "Love and Dating" forum if you haven't already. You'll probably have better luck there.

If the other person doesn't know your sexuality, then it's not a date. Dating is when people who think they may be compatible meet to get to know each other better. There's an understanding that you're checking each other out as potential partners and that no obligation is implied by that.

I see. I understand what dating is better now, thank you.

@Descartes: I'm not sure whether I want to ask a mod to help move this thread to the "Love and Dating" sub-forum yet. I think I'll wait and see if there are any there responses. If there aren't any, I'm also fine with that.
