Hi I am a doctoral student at Widener University. I work with several students with Asperger's trying to provide them with support in college. I started to wonder if the support and services available at colleges are REALLY the services that people with Asperger's in college need OR want. So I put together this research survey to get some feedback. I am sorry I do not have a grant for this research study so this is a strictly "get the information out there" or "knowledge for knowledge sake" type of survey with no monetary compensation. I am attaching the link to the survey if you want to participate. It will only take 10 minutes if that and it is completely anonymous. I have already gotten some great feedback so I know that everyone out there has great things to say!

THANKS!

I am interested in this topic. My son (who was in the Gifted & Talented program in HS) went to College and left, he was miserable there, social reasons chiefly, which made him depressed and then it was very difficult to do the classwork. And he had/has issues writing papers.

Will you be posting your survey results here?

I would hope so if you are using this group to get your information.

Thanks

Actually, I haven't received accomodations for over two semesters and I've managed to do fine, even in some of my more challenging classes. I guess my disability doesn't affect me as much as to impair my scholastic abilities.

i was almost totally lost. i couldn't do a term paper to save my life. i was a stranger in a strange land, i was on speaking terms with nobody. it was like there was an invisible barrier between me and everybody else. i just didn't belong.

This is pretty similar to my experience right now, social wasn't to big of a deal. I had a little bit of an issue with a professor and a crush that did not work out. So I stopped going to class and mostly played videogames.
