Interesting.
I dream of one day reaching the age of not caring what people think, for now it's just an ideal I can't quite reach.
There is no "age" to reach to become an independent thinker. When you start thinking for yourself, chances are your thinking won't be much different than morals would dictate, but taking ownership of those morals will make you feel better about yourself. You might be surprised what you can come up with one idea at a time. If you start now, you just might achieve it by the time you are 90....but don;t forget to learn from other's mistakes. You'll never live long enough to make them all on your own.
I have a favorite philosophy about my ages:
Having a lot of sexual partners
When you are in your 20's makes you a slut
When you are in your 30's it makes you desperate.
In your 40's it is impossible (menopause)
When you are in your 50's it makes you LUCKY.
I am very verbose tonight, but I am in a great mood so please excuse me.
