I'm not a vegan myself, but my mother wants to know how many people with Asperger's Syndrome are vegetarians. So I ask you guys this: Are you or are you not a vegetarian?

I'm not a vegetarian, but if being an omnivore were not ubiquitously convenient and less socially enforced I would be a vegetarian. I believe that our bodies were designed to be herbivorous and not omnivorous, so it should be beneficial to be a vegetarian health-wise.

I'm not a vegetarian myself, but I admire people how are able to be vegetarians. I'm too used to my meat to take on that diet.

I'm not a vegetarian either. I love animals - they taste great with hot sauce.

No, we are definately made to eat meat. Are teeth are made for both tearing flesh and grinding grains, and we digest meat better than plants.

Like most Indian vegetarians, I'm a lacto-vegetarian.

I'm not a vegetarian because I love animals or anything, it's just out of habit. I was brought up as a vegetarian, and I can't get used to the idea of eating eggs, seafood or meat.

I love animals but believe that meat is an important part of the human diet.

There is a difference between being a vegetarian and a vegan. Vegetarians won't eat meat. Vegans won't eat anything produced by an animal.

I think the OP just mis-worded the post. It's a common mistake.

I am because meat makes me feel sick for some reason. My AS gets worse on a high meat diet, plus I get more anxious. I don't like the taste or texture. I remember in grade 2, my dad used to take me out on Thursdays for lunch and I would have a hamburger. The hamburger would give me cramps and we had PE after lunch. It was pretty obvious that I didn't like meat because I have a sensitive gag reflex. Seriously, both me and my dad gag if something smells mildly gross.

If it is "natural" for us to eat meat, why does it do this to me? My mom says the opposite and my dad is more like me, though it doesn't make him feel sick, he just is able to handle NOT eating it.

I was vegetarian for 10 years. But, I've been eating fish and shellfish for the past 8 years, but not every day (not even every week). Most days are vegetarian days. My husband is vegetarian, so any meals I prepare for the 3 of us are meat free, which means all dinners and breakfasts.

I go through phases where I am an dthen I am not. I would still eat fish sometimes though. I was vegan for a while after I had my son and again 2 years ago. I eat meat now but mostly game that has been shot or organic free range meats.

I could easily live without meat if I didn't live with my son, but it would be wasteful to do so at the moment.
