I don't if this is autism or a genetic thing but is anyone else sensitive to Barometric pressure/Storms?

When it gets cold I get lethargic and tired faster. When it's sunny and warm I'm generally pretty happy and chill, when Low pressure comes here I get extremely dizzy, confused, stuffy, tired and when I try to sleep I can't.

Does anyone else have issues with pressure?

I don't know but when it's sunny it's very bright outside and they say it is good for elevating mood and why some people invest in lights in certain hemispheres to help with their depression where there isn't enough sunlight. I am always happier on sunny days and more depressed on cloudy days but don't know anything about barometric pressure. I usually enjoy stormy weather.

I loath anything to do with sunny days. Clouds, rain, storms; I thrive in.

I love storms, but they dont love me...the barametric presures give me cluster headaches which is sort of like migranes also causes extreme light and sound sensitivities. I just wanna crawl in a hole somewhere.

Anyway Sunny days, I have elivated moods, cloudy days for more than 2 days makes me depressed (SAD...seasonal affectivness disorder)
Heat....oooooohh I hate the summer heat...it makes me sluggish, tired, and sometimes slows down my cognition.
Cold...love it...the crispness makes me feel more alive, unless I get hypothermia, which I have done before basicly once you get too cold to think what do about being cold, its downhill from there.

I would say that weather affects me quite a bit.

Its actually sunny and blue here year round, with rain and bad weather being rare. But I know if I go to the east side of town (I often do for work), the sky/pressure feels all off and its dusty all the time. Its quite depressing. In the main city we have sunny bright days but I'm not really fond of them completely because there is so much pollution in the air. We also have cloudy days which are quite depressing.

I actually prefer snow, or rain most of the time for the entire day. Every thing's wet, dark, and a nicer shade.... although last time it rained I was working so it was quite depressing, I was soaked down to my socks walking in 6 inches of mud.

This is funny, its the opposite where I live. People come to our city and decide to go hiking without realizing the weather extreme, they usually die from heat.

In a word, yes. With the odd weather we've been having lately, it's been wreaking havoc on my senses. My prime seasons tend to be fall, early winter, and early spring. The rest just aggravate my allergies, or make the air feel unbreathable.

Bright sunny weather does tend to improve my moods, but I am not too bad in gloomy weather. I can't stand air that's too dry or too humid, especially hot, humid air. Dry air makes me have dry coughs. Humid air makes it harder for me to breath, and gives me post nasal drip, which causes moister coughs. I have always had weak lungs, so I try to avoid getting colds, or being in humid air. I have never smoked, but when it's hot and humid, it seems like I had smoked. My lungs just can't handle it. Fortunately, where I live, in the summer we don't have that many hot, humid days, so I can usually get by with the windows open and the industrial strength fans on. The AC broke a long time ago, was fixed and broke again after a couple of days. That was several years ago. I think it over heated because it is mounted on the south side and has no awning. Any replacement would also over heat and break, so I didn't bother replacing it. With all the windows open, and the end room doors open, I get good four way circulation, and with the fans added to that, I am usually comfortable here. It is only when it occasionally gets really humid and warm or hot, that I have a problem. I end up sitting in the recliner in night shirt, nursing an ice pack, while being blasted by one of the industrial fans I own. I have one for the back end of the house and bathroom, one for the home office, and one for the living room. The kitchen has an overhead fan, plus it gets some of the blast from the living room. With all that I make out okay.

I love storms too! I'm sorry some weather affects you negatively.

I don't really get bad reactions except for seasonal depression disorder....but I'm experiencing vertigo at work lately since I've been moved from ground level to 3rd floor.

I hate barometric pressure changes. They're a migraine trigger for me. When hurricane Irene went by I was up all night, had a bunch of pain, and had enough various problems with it that I had meltdowns repetitively for a few days.

Sounds like seasonal affective disorder.

Yes, I am this way but I have allergies. Changes in barometric pressure can actually make me sick. Do you have allergies, OP?

Either way my body is extremely sensitive to hot/cold/etc. Been this way since I was a kid.

Weather effects me in a lot of ways. Since I have two different kinds of arthritis, Osteo & a rhemutoid type from my Crohn's disease, Low pressure systems/cold fronts can be quite painful. I also have Reynauds Syndrome which is the arthritis reacting to cold in my hands. I cannot stand that.
On the other hand, ever since I was a child, I love storms! Low pressure systems also make me restless & distracted. I'm always hyped up near tropical systems, the last was when Hurican Rita (or T. Storm by that time, but barely, very strong still) rolled over Hot Springs bak in 05. I had a hard time working because I just wanted to stand & watch. Or pace the floor..
So yes, in many ways, weather effects me.

Sincerely,
Matthew
