Citalopram doesn't cause brain damage or any perminant side effects. I'd suggest you look into any other possible causes.
Are you an expert in drugs? Have you got your own lab & are testing this drug on mice or rats?
Just because it is legal does not mean it can not cause permanent damage. It's the same as taking any drug, it can cause damage. You take the risk of accepting anything that happens to you is ok. For treating your problem that you see.
Messing with chemicals can cause damage just because the adverts say “correct a pre existing chemical imbalance”, which should say “will likely cause a chemical imbalance, as the brain try s to compensate.
Just like a nuclear reactor when its over heating or the cooling system is blocked, it will try to balance out the problem or you do a “hair follicle test” to see if your unbalanced
( I am not an expert either, but to say it can't cause any perminant or brain damage. You must be in research of drugs? )
