I am 22 and have never gotten a drivers license. And I know a few other Aspies that are about my age and don't have theirs either. Any one else? And why?

I don't because it seems dumb to have a car when a bike gets me everywhere I go.

I got my license right away... car's have been an obsession of mine since about 7 or 8 years old back when I first started thinking about the interior feature differences between 2 door and 4 door cars (I was very enthusiastic about having my own door as a kid)

I got mine immediatly. I need it for both getting to work, going skiing and many other hobbies.

I have a commercial driver's license anyways.

I'm 18 and I don't want to learn how to drive. I'm too easily distracted by things near the road and end up with road rage just being a passenger, so I'd be really dangerous if I tried to drive.

Im in my mid thirties and I cant drive.

I have poor coordination problems and difficulty judging distances, I struggle crossing roads as a pedestrian let alone in a fast car.

Also Im really car-sick so Ive a negative association with cars and really dislike them.

I'm 25 and have never gotten more than my permit... 2 or three times, while then letting them expire >_>

I've always been terrified of driving, but I'm planning on getting my permit again soon, and then working to get my license. I've always lived in places with crap for public transportation... with where I need to go, being too far away to walk. Also, I'd like to be able to wander soon... including moving far away from where I am now, which I just can't do without a car :?

The moving thing is the main inspiration for wanting my license. Although, I'm sure wherever I choose to go, I'll still walk when I can even with a license :?

I never got mine and never will, i don't like cars and its too expensive to get a license right now, and cars are expensive to maintain >< And i've been told that i'm not allowed to drive with my medicine anyway.

I'm in my 30s and don't have a licence. Never had a lesson, or done anything with the business end of a car.

I've either been too poor, too terrified, or not needed a car where I live.

Right now it's a combination of the first two, as I really do need to learn to drive.

I don't have a driver's liscence because I am too anxious/jumpy in the car and if I were a driver, I'd hit the brakes all the time out of fear and cause accidents.

I somehow managed to get a driver's license with more luck than skill, but I've never owned a car and never sat behind the wheel after my driving test. Driving freaks me out. I can't coordinate my hands and feet well enough, and I have the reaction speed of a drunk sloth.

I don't have one either, nor do I think I ever will. The idea of driving a car causes me a lot of anxiety, and the way I see it, if you don't think you can do it, then it is probably better if you don't.

I'm 28 and have never even attempted to drive. Every now and then I go through a phase of really wanting to try but I am just too scared. I hope I can at least try one day. The cost would also be an issue. It's strange because when I was a kid I was quite obsessed with cars and couldn't wait to drive when older but things change I suppose.

I've never had a license. I had a permit when I was a teenager.

My mother doesn't drive so I never had anyone to teach me and I wouldn't be able to afford a car anyways.

I know that if I drove I would have lots of problems with things like reaction times and paying attention to so many things at once. I think I'd have problems with the mirrors and the few times I tried with my friend I was really bothered by how the car obscured my vision around me.

I've read stuff where people say the car will become like an extension of your body. That's no comfort to me when I whack my legs against the coffee table on a regular basis and sometimes trip over nothing.

Also I get carsick.

I've never had a licence and will never need one. My eyesight is too bad for driving.
