Murder is now legal in Florida. It has been proven. The advocates of the same law think it's crazy to legalize marijuana for medical use.

In America, we can legalize murder, and we have outlawed a drug that could save people's lives. God help America.

By definition, murder can't be legal. Murder is illegal homicide. All places have situations in which it is legal to commit homicide. I guess Florida just added new ones and you don't agree with the change, but some context is needed.

He wasn't trespassing; he was in his father's neighborhood, on his way home from the store.

Yeah, the guy who shot him spent time on the lookout for strange black guys. Since he didn't normally stay at his dad's house, Zimmerman took him for a stranger. I don't know if he was racist (I think he was) or just nuts, but he can't really use self-defence laws to get away with murder (well, I suppose he already has tried to).

Unfortunately, the law in Florida says that one must only 'feel threatened' in order to justify shooting someone. Paranoid Zimmerman probably did feel threatened by a black teenage boy (whom he outweighed, btw, by about a whole human being); thus, he broke no laws in shooting said teenage boy despite having no legitimate reason to be afraid.

I heard about this in passing but reading the wikipedia article, I think he should of been arrested and trialed but I'm not sure he'd be convicted. The evidence and eye witness accounts seems to go both ways. It's a sad story either way.

I don't live in America, in here the news is reported as a US thing rather than a Florida thing.

It's punishment for the UK. It would be nice to give our prisoners the option of being shipped over there.
