I heard people were offended by this character because she supposedly mocked mentally disabled people, but as an autistic, I'm not offended by her. I think she's just dumb, not necessarly disabled.

Haha I know. It's hilarious when people claim something is offensive to a certain group while that specific group is actually not offended at all.

Am I offended by Derpy? No way! I think she's really cute and sweet, and I love the personality and life that the MLP fandom gave her.

I agree with all the statements here. I don't find her offensive at all and think she's adorable. Would like to see a toy made of her (are you listening Hasbro?). Some people get butthurt over nothing sometimes and that's what I find offensive.

I'm not offended... I am, however, shocked... my little pony still exists?

I don't think this character is offensive at all. I think she's perfect. What I didn't like was how badly the other characters treated her. It's like she's a burden to them. Treating people who are different like crap isn't a positive message for a children's show.

It's a new generation called "Friendship is magic". Apparently it's much better than the 1980's cartoon, and it's created by Laureen Faust, who also did Powerpuff girls and Foster's home for imaginary friends.

And it has a big cult following among teenage and young adult males.

Surprised you haven't heard of it.

The thing that offends me is that Derpy was dederped, suggesting that you cannot be friends with people with odd voices or they don't exist or something.

Ah yes, the Derpy incident...

I am not offended by Derpy. I find her cute, clumsy, and lovable. And I loved her original voice, even though the voice actress thought Derpy was male lol.

When this whole thing started I sent an email to the writer of that episode in support of Derpy and she sent me a thank you email back. Although I might have overreacted just a little bit. Anyway, it's over now. I still have my Derpy t-shirts, my Derpy pin, and The Friendship Express DVD with the unaltered version of The Last Roundup on it. She'll always be Derpy to me!

I love Derpy. I am Derpy. I'm more offended by the change. I guess I'm supposed to change now too? What happened to acceptance?

No, I'm not. Seriously, sometimes I think that some people go around looking out for any little thing to be offended about. I'm not about to jump on the "I'm offended" bandwagon.

No, I'm not, but right now I'm more aware of what the issue was. A lot more people use 'Derpy' as an insulting word than I thought they'd do, and it's as bad as any form of bigotry.
