Hi everybody.
I don't have any real friends in school (im only chating with skype with 2), every I break walk alone or stand still and listen music, so it's really confused, when before exams people started to ask me for a help. Even schoolmates, who I haven't ever seen.
What should I do? Help them? Yes, I was teached that it's polite to help when sobody is asking to. But they don't even say hello for me...

You don't have to.

Do you want to?

If you have no strong feelings one way or another, I'd say try it. It turns out that teaching something is a really good way to learn, since other people will often have different problems than you would.

We're currently in exam/assignment period and I'm finding that heaps of people are asking anyone in sight questions. I actually like this because I have trouble meeting people and if the first interaction I have with someone is me helping them they tend to be warm towards me afterwards. Sometimes I need to ask questions too so I feel comfortable asking people I've helped or their friends.

If they aren't your friends and have never shown interest in you before, or if they haven't been an acquaintance type friend who you talk to in passing or occasionally make small talk with, I wouldn't help them for free. I would charge them for my time tutoring them. If you are getting a lot of in class, or studyhall etc type questions of "Hey, how do you do this problem?" I'd tell them "Not right now, I'm in the middle of something" If you want to help them, then charge them money for your tutoring time, or have them trade out in some way like teaching you a skill they know, etc.

If the ones asking you are jackasses to you or others, the rest of the time, then I would tutor them for free but teach them the wrong way.

Thanks for your replies

I helped today one classmate, but only because she is kind-hearted, very nice person. I think, I will not help everybody. Because, as I see then don't want to help me when I ask about some social things, such as some phrases or things which are impolite etc. Thank you once again. You helped me to decide what to do.

I'm not sure what your course is like Gosferano but in my course we aren't competing with each other - there's no bell curve in marking so we could all possibly get top marks. Also, we are encouraged to treat each other like colleagues - even if we aren't friends with other students we are asked to bounce our ideas off each other and there is a lot of interactive activities and group work.

I don't have any friends at uni - mainly I think because I haven't tried to make any and no one there looks at me and thinks they have anything in common. When it comes to assignments and exams we all have things in common. So, when other students ask me questions I feel like its just like being in a workplace and co-operation between us all helps us all. If there were any students deliberately excluding me or being mean I wouldn't help them but the truth is, sometimes I feel really lonely at uni but no one there is being mean - they are probably just waiting for me to open up and introduce myself. Even having made no friends I feel much better there now that everyone's interacting like colleagues - I have people who give me a smile and a nod in the hallways now - we're not friends but just acknowledge each other politely and its nice to be noticed.

It's up to you. If they were miserable to you all school year then don't bother. If they're just starting to notice you now, well maybe you can make a friend out of this...
