I am a muslim, i converted 1 year ago. And i was just wondering how diverse religion is among people with a ASD.

So what is your religion and why do you believe it? what makes it the right religion?

I'm an atheist. But I don't resent those who are religious so long as that religion doesn't cause harm to others or bigotry.

Also an atheist.

Probably because I need reasons to believe extraordinary things rather than reasons not to.

I see no reason to believe that a god exists. So I'm an atheist towards god(s) in the same way that I don't believe in unicorns or the Flying Spaghetti Monster. In any case I would not respect an entity which tells me I have to worship him/her/it or I'll go to Hell. As I see it, there are three possible situations:
1) No god exists.
2) A god (or multiple gods) exists but doesn't care whether you worship or believe in him/her/it. In that case it doesn't matter whether I believe in him/her/it or not--my fate in the afterlife will not be effected.
3) A god (or multiple gods) exists and will send you toe Hell or otherwise punish you if you don't believe in him/her/it. In that case I would refuse to worship a creatures that arrogant and cruel.

But to be perfectly honest, it comes down to the fact that when I examine myself I don't believe that there is some sort of supreme being.

I am an atheist, though I am recently beginning to be more and more inclined to the buddhist philosophy (but I have rather sceptical view of buddhism as religion).

The reason why I am atheist is, that I find philosophical foundations of virtually any major religion somehow self-defeating....

I'm an agnostic, short of dieing, nobody can tell what to expect after life ends. Nobody knows where the universe originated, or why 10,000 years ago, the parietal, temporal, and occipital lobes of homo sapiens evolved at a faster pace than other species at any given time.

Why did you convert to Islam? How much emphasis is placed on women covering their hair? Do they discuss sharia law much at your mosque? How does your faith influence your daily life?

I don't have a religion. I'm an atheist and an anti-theist.

You are going to find a lot of anti-religion talk here, and a lot of pro-religion talk here. And many will display some intellectual means of arriving at a non-belief.

As I was born a Lutheran, and was brought up in the Lutheran faith, I will very probably go to my grave a Lutheran. As to why I keep going to a Lutheran church, other than a life long affiliation, I very much like the emphasis on God's free grace through Christ, as well as the assurance that my salvation is in God's able hands alone.

I was born an atheist, like everyone else.
I suspect I'll die one.

Even if you do, odds are that either some Christian will tell everyone that you had a deathbed conversion or the Mormon Church will posthumously baptize you.

You're never growing up? Some of us did.

Nah- the belief ignorance prevented in my infancy is now prevented by an utter lack of evidence for the idea posited.

Not just babies- non-human animals, too.

My cat is actually president of the local chapter of Non-Human Skeptics.

I have to come out and try to be sociable when he hosts meetings.

I am an Atheist, because I prefer to see things as they are and not as a bunch of iron age goat farmers thought it was.
