Trying to get a diagnosis makes me smash!
Need to get this out of my system.
I got a pseudo diagnosis about 2 years ago for ADHD (the psych Concerta, it worked, we ran with it). I started having anger/anxiety problems while on Concerta so I asked to try different meds. The psych refers me to the government psych clinic and I don't get an appointment to see someone until I call them every week for nearly a month.
I finally saw a psych today and after giving her a brief run down of my history, she tells me that since I didn't have problems in school, no difficulties learning reading and counting, then I can't have ADHD.
well I would tell the manager of the building and let them know about the incident and maybe try to see one that knows what they are talking about. because that's BS. My oldest brother has ADHD and went through school without knowing it getting A's and B's. He did have trouble paying attention and taught himself to listen. He got his diagnosis and is taking medicine and now things are a lot better for him. I also have ADD and until the end of 7th grade when we found out I had it, I had difficulty in school with paying attention [and with my aspergers we found out I had at the same time] and still got A's and B's. When we got me on concerta and got me an IEP it helped me pay attention and made school easier for me. [still is to] I'm currently a freshman in High school and it is A LOT easier this year than any other school year.
