Have you tried anything else? I don't have personal experience, but I know people who have had their life changed forever by SSRIs. If you don't want bad (potentially very bad) side effects, don't take SSRIs. I can recommend St johns wort. It is supposedly about 2x more effective then Prozac (Too lazy to go look it up, sorry).
I would recommend taking about a 1g-2g a day, and lower it from there.
I can also recommend Kanna. It has the compounds that SSRIs are modeled off of. Kanna is supposed being suppressed by big-pharma.
And, last of all, if you want pharm try MAOIs. They are extremely effective.
Good luck!
Supplements like St. John's Wart are not regulated by the FDA. The amount of the active ingredient varies from brand to brand and sometimes even from batch to batch of the same brand.
I'm not sure if MAO Inhibitors work on OCD. They are generally prescribed for depression. I was on them a while and they didn't do a thing for my depression, and the dietary restrictions you have to follow are kind of a pain in the butt.
Everyone is different, and everyone's reaction to things is different. In the final analysis, it's up to you.
