Hello everybody!

I've been a lurker for about 2 weeks now, just getting to know the community.

While I haven't been diagonsed with AS, I also don't think I am not really neurotypical by any stretch either though.

I don't really have any close friends but to be honest I don't really care. My parents keep bugging me that I should make friends or go to parties but I am heavily introverted would honestly prefer not to. Back in grade school during recess, I would always be on the swings, daydreaming about video games (and yes, yoshi).

Social situations have always perplexed me. I can't really relate to kids my own age. I often don't say much to anyone else not because I choose to, but rather because I don't know what to say. I've always felt different from other kids my age. I don't mind social situations when I can plan for them, but when I can't prepare, I don't know what to say or any response I do make seems very forced and unnatural.

I have a few strong obssesions that I have followed passionately (usually for years). Some of my obsessions now are astrophysics and computer science (I like math in general).

And, yup! I can relate to everything you just mentioned. Well, except the maths. Maths is my nemesis -- I simply can't hold numbers in my head properly. :mrgreen:
