I think I'm an aspie. One of the reasons I think this, is because my interests are very limited. Actually, they're so limited that at this moment I don't have any (special) interests. And throughout my life, I think I just had a few. But because of this, I question my activities a lot. I don't know why I do the things I do. I quit university twice, and I currently work for 2 days a week. You think, with so much free time you can enjoy your hobbies quite a lot and try new things. But everything I try fails! I just end up quitting the hobby or activity after a while.

I don't think I'm depressed, but the fact that I don't have goals in my life and I'm not able to give myself goals does affect my mood quite a lot, not the other way around I think. So I've read that some of you guys sometimes don't have special interests, what do you do to kill time?

Whenever I go through times without interests, I spend all my time looking for new ones, because I become depressed and lazy (well - more so than usual) without them. Though it's kind of counter-productive since, much like romance or friendship, special interests tend to develop spontaneously/when you least expect it.

See a psychiatrist. I'm afraid you may be misdiagnosing yourself, or that you may have something else in addition.

ADHD-PI is suspected in me by my psychologist but I have a couple of stims too (pacing, having conversations out loud when I'm alone, shaking hands and jumping around when I have strong emotions, a jumping leg), which is the strongest indication for me that I might have Asperger's. I'm already diagnosed with social anxiety disorder, so I'm definitely socially inept I guess. I just realized that I spend hours reading up on Asperger's on the internet every day. This might be my current special interest. But it doesn't really satisfy me.

You may fall into more than one category. While you may have AS, there are more important categories that you could also fall into... Categories which may require medication. I would suggest you print what you wrote in this thread and show it to your psychologist. See what he/she makes of it.

I have always had something I was highly obsessed with, be it raccoons, or be it recycling, or be it writing about my constantly flowing thoughts, ideas, beliefs, and research. I have always had a strict interest that everything else just kinda flowed around.

So i really don't know what it would be like without any special interests...

I have ADHD-PI, but I can't really remember a single point in my life where I wasn't intensely interested in at least one thing. I'm not diagnosed with AS but that in addition to being prone to meltdowns and easily frustrated, being OCD-like when it comes to routine and getting fussy about things/events getting changed on me, and constantly taking things people say to me objectively and literally is what has eventually led me to believe I might have Aspergers. I stim too, but I always thought that was just my ADHD kicking in, and I have no trouble reading faces, just making them. Aside from executive dysfunction and maybe stimming, my ADHD covers none of the symptoms of AS :? If you have any of the other traits described in the criteria, you could probably still have AS. I don't think not having a special interest would completely rule it out.
