I've got the jist on Gamespot.

Gamespot is a gaming website that covers 98% of all videogames ever made since about the early 1990s. They've got everything from Jazz Jackrabbit all the way up to Halo 3. They've also got Unions, Message Boards, and a Private Messaging system but you have to be at least 13 to be able to sign up and get a membership (which is free, by the way!). When you sign up, you can also reveiw games, contribute walkthroughs, and submit cheats that haven't already been found!

Gamespot does have a lot of advertising jargon on it, so you can consider going to it's partner site, GameFAQs. GameFAQs is extremely similar to Gamespot, so much so that they actually share the same Message Boards and game lists (plus if you make one on FAQs, you get one on Spot too)! You don't really get anything new when signing up apart from the ability to post in the Message Boards and contribute cheats and walkthroughs, but GameFAQs is a lot cleaner and free of things like advertising, even more so than Wrong Planet.

I used to have an account there, but I got banned due to a censor by-pass mishap. I'll never make that mistake again!

Oh, and yes, I like computer games.
