As we all know, there are many autistic people whose lives end because of neglect, malpractice, lack of services, or even outright murder. But many of them are forgotten. For every Katie McCarron, there are dozens of unknown, unremembered except by their families, and sometimes not even that.
I'd like to create a site that is dedicated to these people. I know there are already lists of names; but I'd like more than that--details about them, their lives, who they were and how they died. I don't want them to be forgotten.
I know there are already some web sites that have lists like this, and I'm going to be drawing from them.
Would anybody be willing to help me with collecting information? I want to have at least one reliable source for each person--a newspaper article, for example, even if it's just an obituary.
I've got the very beginnings of it here, just three names currently:
http://autism-memorial.livejournal.com/As you can see, I don't have that much detail about the people's lives. It seems like all the information I can come up with is about their deaths. I'd like to change that, get some stuff about personalities, hobbies, jobs, that kind of thing.
We've got good researchers here; the question is, do they have the time?
