Summer is approaching fast and it's getting too hot to wear hoodies and jackets. I feel so naked without a hoodie or jacket of some sort. It used to always be freezing in my office so I always had an excuse to wear one even when it was super hot out, but in my new office it's getting too warm to keep wearing them much longer. I wish I didn't feel so damn uncomfortable in public without one.

Does anybody else have a similar problem?

Not at the moment, since I live in Oregon.

But yeah, I absolutely hate the heat.

Exactly.
I always wear long sleeves and Levi's, and the weather is already too hot to be comfortable.

Yeah, it was something I could hide behind for comfort but I'll be damned if I torture myself with wearing long sleeved tops and pants in the summer when it's 30+ degrees outside. You'll get used to it eventually.

I wear tshits, shorts, and sandals almost exclusively, but for whatever reason when I go to work, or to the grocery, or really just any enclosed area with lots of people, I get so uncomfortable without a jacket. I used to think it was just the not knowing what to do with my hands thing, but I've noticed that with jackets I never really put my hands in the pockets (with hoodies they rarely come out of the pocket). I just feel so uncomfortable without one on. When it gets too hot in my office I'll take off the hoodie or jacket and just put my arms through the sleeves. I don't know why, but it just brings my anxiety down a few notches.

I'm also dreading summer. I like to dress in vintage androgynous looking clothes that are suited for colder weather and I won't be able to do that during the hot summer months. I have my Kinks T-shirts that I've made, though they're starting to show their age after three years of wearing and washing.

I feel exactly the same way. I feel naked and vulnerable without a jacket or jumper, and I tend to cover up more than other girls do - I just feel uncomfortable otherwise. I like soft, close fitting clothes not the loose, flowy or skimpy things that are popular in Summer. I just keep covered in Summer and feel a bit warm (but then I live in the UK so it is mostly likely not as warm as where you are.) Perhaps you could look out for a thinner, cotton hoodie?

Definitely. I don't like summer clothes at all. I feel very uncomfortable and self-conscious when wearing them.

Alright, this summer it's gonna be long jeans, plain t-shirts and sports-shoes and I'll be waiting for the complaints coming out of every direction that will go on from dawn till dusk.

Be happy you don't live in south Louisiana. It tens to be hot & humid here & people would think you were a crazy homeless person for wearing a hoddie unless it was in the middle of winter on one of the colder days. I wear shorts most all year round & I never even worn a hoddie
