"What's Your Favorite Scary Movie?"
Ghostface, Scream 4

That's right! You've got yourself a genuine horror junkie! I've watched plenty of horror movies (mostly slasher horrors), and now Miss KidInTheCorner wants to know...

What's your favorite horror movie?

I loved the "Three Kings" as they're called. 'A Nightmare on Elm Street', 'Halloween', and 'Friday the 13th'. Classic 1980's horror, cheesy effects and all. Freddy Krueger, the King of Nightmares and the man of your dreams. Maniacal prankster and psychopathic serial killer. Michael Myers, the immortal, silent shape of the night, bringing terror to the one night he's allowed out. And Jason Voorhees, young boy turned into a ruthless murderer. Man, I loved those movies.

I also loved 'Silence of the Lambs', 'Saw', 'Hills Have Eyes', 'Hellraiser', 'My Bloody Valentine', and lots more.

But enough about. Missy here wants to know your favorite horror movie! So tell her, please?

"Alien" is right up there with my all time favorites. But the thing I love more than a great horror movie is a great horror comedy. I love movies that can scare you but also make you laugh like "The Cabin in the Woods," "Shaun of the Dead," "Drag Me to Hell," and "Evil Dead 2." Another great horror comedy I saw recently that people might not have heard of is "Tucker and Dale vs. Evil." It's about two super nice, innocent hillbilly-type guys who are mistaken for creepy killers by a group of college kids. It's really funny how all these accidents happen to keep convincing the college kids that Tucker and Dale are killers.

I sometimes go for movies that normal people would retch to, movies like Irreversible, Slaughtered Vomit Dolls, the Japanese slashcore film Blood & Flowers, the Japanese-Russian films about WW2 Japanese Unit 431, etc. There's gory and there's ridiculous. These films are ridiculous.

I've seen a lot of these kind of movies,

The Old: Frankenstein, Dracula, the Wolfman, the Mummy, and the Invisible Man.

The Slasher: Halloween, Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Hellraiser, Scream, and the Know What You Did Last Summer series.

Stephen King: Christine, Carrie, the Shining, and IT.

I've also seen Psycho, Silence of the Lambs, The Exorcist, Poltergeist, the Evil Dead/Army of Darkness trilogy, Amityville Horror, Wishmaster, and Night of the Living Dead and Dawn of the Dead.

And not just the originals, a lot of sequels and remakes as well.

Yeah, I love the first two movies. The original cenobites were the coolest, I really don't care for the new ones they've made in later movies, with the exception of The Twins in Bloodlines (an otherwise terrible movie).

A lot of my favorite movies are from the horror genre, such as Alien and Hellraiser, but nothing really scares me much anymore. I really like the fake documentary/shaky camera genre, a guilty pleasure. I loved seeing each Paranormal Activity movie each Halloween 3 years in a row. I'm a bit sad I don't have one to look forward to this year. Cloverfield was a fun movie.

Yes, I love horror movies. I especially love movies with child killers or psychological thrillers. I like The Ring, The Omen, Orphan, The Grudge, The Shining, Carrie, The Saw series, Hostel and Ghost House are some of my favourite movies.

With a few exceptions I really don't like horror movies generally, simply put I don't enjoy that kind of thrill I guess.. Though I always loved roller coasters for example so maybe not dunno..

More recently i've developed a real aversion tothe unpleasant, gory and all that jazz.. More to it but is a long and uncomfortable story. Suffice it to say I almost can't watch any now. maybe because i've just been talking about it but favourite is probably Alien. or most zombie flicks though generally don't watch them now but did get through dawn of the dead again last week, albeit flinching and looking away every time the zombies tuck in.

Several zombie movies. I am a sucker for them.

A good horror movie that isn't really all that gory is The Ring.
