Awhile ago I asked a neighbor of mine for help with depression. She not only helped, but also (unintentionally) taught me a lot about how to treat people. Though we haven't spoken much since then, I'd really like to keep talking her but I'm not sure how to ask her if she can be like a mentor for me. My social skills are weak, but I do know that it's not a good idea to ask someone "Hey, can you be a mentor to me?". It takes me a very long time to be comfortable around people, and the counselors I've seen gave me very generic, almost useless advice. I learned a lot from her, but feel there is a lot more I could learn as well. It was simple when I asked for help with depression, but with this I don't know...please help
