I have Tourette's, when I get anxious I start to tic, but when it's really bad and I haven't done a lot of physical activity - It itches, deep inside my bones or my head and it feels like I need to rip my skin off to get to it. Obviously, that's not the case, but I was wondering if anyone else has this and what they do to help it.

So far, for me I rock back and forth and try to stress the negative energy out of my muscles the best I can, but it doesn't always work.

I also have a ticdisorder, propably Tourette (not diagnosed yet) and Magnesium, after 4 weeks it's getting better and I take this every view months when my tics are getting worser for around 4 weeks and it helped me alot, but it doesn't work with all people with Tourette, it depents.

I know what you mean, it's not that uncommon. I alos can't wear thinks that irritates me on the skin, because I have to do something about it, but that's very common in ticdisorders.

Hmm I don't know about an itch, but I do tend to get really tense and anxious and like I am bouncing off the walls. I read somewhere that people with tourettes syndrome tend to have an abundance of excess energy, which I can totally relate too. If that's the case, maybe the key is just making sure you've done enough physical activity during the day to get rid of some of that energy. That why Martial Arts works so well for me :D

Raziel, I've heard of using magnesium before, but have never tried it. It makes sense that that would help, so maybe I'll try it.

I'm usually playing hockey, but the season is out and it's been too hot to do much. I have been going out at 4am to get a run in and do some tennis though. It is the energy that kills me. I guess it's an antsy "itch" feeling.

I don't have tourettes but I've had ticks before when I was on different psych meds. I would highly recommend researching any medication your on(especially psych 1s if your on any) because they could affect things. I have Essential Tremors(I sometimes shake when doing things with fine motor-skills) I've done a bit of research on different medications related to that & I may be very wrong about this but perhaps medication that would relax the muscles or the nervous system would help with the tic itch. This ain't ticks but my urges to perform Aspie stims are a little better on those types of meds

I've got tourettes, for me it's a sort of snapping feeling. Like my muscles are a rubber band, and it's being pulled out until it inevitably snaps and I tic. Though often, for simple tics I don't feel anything, or I react almost instantly to the urge.

However, I sometimes get dystonic tics. (Tics that last a few seconds) and there is a very deep crawling/itching sensation like you described.

My tics aren't always like the itchy feeling, but when I'm over-energised or stressed it starts feeling that way.

By the way:
I read the other day about Magnesium-Orotate and that's to help a lot more than just simple magnesium: True Magnesium Orotate for
Cardiovascular Health (click)
(They also write there about magnesium-orotate in general.)

I have made very positive effects with orotate, but never tryed magnesium-orotate myself, but I also want to try it, when my regular magnesium is gone. :D

I start to have tics when I get anxious too. They usually are itchy, but if I try to stop them they hurt, and I become very upset, and after a while I get very angry.
When I have tics, my mother gives me some valerian, that works like a tranquilizer; after half an hour, it start working, and I feel better. But I've never tried Magnesium.

It's a tic and most of the time I even don't see it common.

Sometimes my tongue flickers like a snake all night. I thought if it isn't medication. It might be tourettes.

I really don't know if I have Tourettes or not, but when I tic I don't get that "itch". My body just aches and it makes me really sore.

Yes I feel it inside my muscles picking away saying go on do it get rid of the itch, I'll be sitting there and can't stop picking things up or moving my feet to release the energy I tend to go outside and play with my dog too then I'm not so restless
I agree when sitting down or laying all day you get very anxious and fidgety and need to release that energy!

I do hate to tic though because I have a shoulder one and a rib hip area one on the right side of my body.
it sucks when you know you're hurting yourself but it feels good to stretch it to that point :S

I don't feel an itch, but more of urges. Deep annoying urges to satisfy that internal discomfort.

But maybe I'm just nitpicking words.

I really hate these urges, and also ticking. And especially how it causes other people around me stress. It makes me ache and sweat afterwards.

I think I've discovered a remedy that is non medicinal. I plan to post my findings later on.
