Note im taking quite a comical approach n may offend...
Aspies:
Detail: specificness needed
Focus: can do it for hours,
Understanding: doesnt quite get it the 1st second and or third time

NT:
No time management required, will rock up at anytime and annoy the hell out of aspie.
Quite social and can hold more than 1 task at a time
Multi-taskings a breeze.
driving is easier than it seems...
no meltdowns from the smallest of situations...
understands the first time (though sometimes i have to bash my head against a wall to get them to understand).
No hyper sensitivity. <--- if this is false, then you're very unlucky...

Like i said this may offend, but that is not my intent... im just in the mood to be rather blunt...

OK I don't really like these sorts of threads because people write things that are too overestimated, and also start writing things down what are just general personality traits that could be found in anybody, NT or not. Plus it feels like we are splitting all neurotypes up into groups.

Saying things like ''Aspies have interests and NTs have no interests'' or ''Aspies like routine and NTs hate routine'' is not entirely true. Everybody I know has an interest in at least something, everybody I know follows a routine of some sort, just because NTs don't have repetitive fixations over a certain subject or a strict need for their own routine to feel secure in their own way, doesn't mean they don't have no interests or routines at all.

Ok. Just to be clear there can be a lot of overlap, but Ill post the key differences.

1. NTS: less obsessive. People with ASD can be quite obsessive ( sometimes about situations that are not healthy to obsess about at all!)

2. NTS: multitask well, function executiuvely well. ASD: need more direction and prompting.

3. Much more anxiety with ASDs,

4. ASDs, often more intellectually curious, ( at least about something!)

5. ASDS: more sensitive, get sadder easier, get angry easier, can have tough time coping with hard situations.

That describes me well, except for number 4, but still, this is a sensible description of the differences between Aspies and NTs.

Although I am not officially diagnosed (I got a a diagnosis of social anxiety and years of ineffective therapy instead lol), in terms of ASD traits it describes me also except for number 2. I prefer to work alone in my own individual way and cannot stand having someone standing over me telling me how to do things or prompting me..I do a more effective job that way as my own way of doing things gets better results.

Most peoples methods are poorly thought out and often omit important factors.

It all depends on how stressed the AS person is.

We can go from being 25% different to 75% different in the blink of an eye.
