Right now I am trying to set up an idea I tried before that was rather successful, but the margins were slim at the time. Now I found a way to make a nice chunk more. Hopefully it will work like last time. Anyone else thinking about online marketing?

Around 90% of my income is from Internet sales. Like any other form of sales, you need to make sure you have sufficient margin to be profitable and you need to make sure people in your target market find out about your site. This can be through forums, mailing lists or conventional advertising.

Was that aimed at me? The vast majority of Internet sales, including my own are completely above board and I find that remark rather offensive.

If you are talking about spam then I am very much against it. Apart from being morally dubious, spam is also a good way to alienate your target market, especially if you are working with a niche market.

When I mentioned mailing lists and forums I should have explained further. If you use forums and mailing lists you need to be an active participant. Frequent forums/mailing lists that are related to your product and become a useful member. Offer advice and generally be helpful. It is fine to let others know you have a product but you also need to be respected. If you just push your product you will be quickly frozen out or banned.

Been doing online marketing for 3 years now, and gotten pretty good at it. Made a lot of money too! Also, to those saying "scammer" is amazon a scammer? They do online marketing.

BTW, PM me if you want to run ideas by me, always open to help out folks

I work in online marketing at the moment. I have been suggested to apply to a couple of companies who use very aggressive ads/email marketing campaigns and I refused. I get too annoyed by that kind of stuff, so it would be painful to do that myself. What I'm doing right now is rather acceptable, so I'm ok with it.
