I don't think I've obsessed over anything "unhealthy" to be honest, but if I think of something, I'll come back and post here

Pus, physical deformities, and the Bubonic plague. I've grown out of them, but I still find them very interesting, especially physical deformities.

What do you mean by unhealthy? Obsessions that caused physical harm to you? Emotional harm? Either/or? Ones that caused you harm in some way? Or obsessions about things that are unhealthy?

Prions, internal parasites and religious martyrdom.

If you mean physical harm, when I was a kid I was obsessed with putting my hand in open flames. I don't know why.

Food. As in eating disorder.

I emphasize FOOD being used as a crafty way to alleviate depression (starve a little, and every planned bite is HEAVEN), NOT as anything regarding body image.

I was also going to say food. I get obsessed with the "fancy" coffee drinks from time to time. They are not only bad for ones waistline, but bad for ones pocket book as well.

Also my job. I can't tell you what I do, but let me just say that every day we all go home to our families alive and well and not in a body bag is a good day! I am, to a degree, obsessed with portions of my job. There are tasks I detest, but the main part is something I'm interested in which can lead to marital discord as it leads me to go to work at night sometimes for hours. I went last night (saturday) from 9pm till 2 am. It's so nice to be able to go and do the parts I like (don't worry not doing anything hazardous at 1am, not allowed to do that stuff with anything less than 12 people and a medical staff) with no one else around to bother me, no distractions, and no noise. Manager loves it, husband hates it. So I guess this might be unhealthy in terms of the marriage and the lack of sleep (I'm on my 3rd cup of coffee). And during the day the fact that the job is kind of dangerous.

For awhile I went through a Charles Manson obsession where I watched lots of documentaries about him, read books and even searched for his music. I made the mistake of sharing this with a few people. I also went through several long periods of obsession with the occult and "black" magick. I say "unhealthy" because in early highschool I actually went out into the forests where we use to live and tried to summon some deity, I can't remember who or what. I was a dumb kid. The whole ordeal made me very paranoid and while I love reading about the occult, ghosts, magical and esoteric things it also has a habit of making me feel very paranoid, literally like the whole world is watching me. I would talk more about my experiences that made me this way but they are deeply personal and I know there are a good deal of people who would mock me or laugh at me behind my back, calling me insane and citing logical reasons for what occurred.

The Late 70s and the British Punk Movement. I respect and like the Punk Rockers who are a part of WP, because I've been there. It was an unhealthy obsession for me personally, because that obsession stemmed out of anger towards another member a long time ago. I did it out of spite and not out of a desire to experiment. I know that there are a lot of decent punkers here and that lifestyle works for you guys and relaxes you.

Once I let go of the hurt and forgave him and a handful of other people online and offline, I was able to be myself again. I'm glad that most of you weren't around during my Black Period. I wasn't a very pleasant person back than. I did learn a lot from that time in my life, though. That's a plus. 8)

Another one was pimples, puss and earwax. I used to watch those videos on YouTube all day long and than I wondered why I didn't have an appetite. I had that obsession last year around this time. I've nipped it in the bud and you guys are able to see a lot more of me, because I'm not watching those appetite killing videos.

Drugs, I guess. Although I've never had any harm befall me because of my drug use, except for the fact that my father caught me smoking weed and he threatened to kick me out of the house...

A person. I will never do that again. "Stuff" and knowledge don't let you down, while people do.
