and money, and just everything that breeds negativity in the world?

For as long as I can remember it's just caused me tremendous pain to face that not everyone has the capacity to be innately open minded, passionate and nonjudgmental, and I find myself thinking about how wonderful the world would be if aspergers were just the way everyone was, and by that I mean every "normal" one, for example: what is known as aspergers in the current state of reality, in this parallel universe would be the equivalent of neurotypical (I hope I described it clear enough that's easy to understand). If that were the way the world was than would the world truly be forever free of corruption and everything negative? Are we truly free of the potential to develop insecurity (the main cause that people become bullies) and everything in a person that causes them to be corrupt? Long question short, if that were reality would it be absolute peace on earth, no judgmentality, and everything?

Well...Wp has alot of aspies, and ive certainly never seen ANYone here on wrongplanet be negative, nor bullying, nor judgemental, nor angry, nor abusive.

Bigotry and hatefulness are nowhere to be found here!

Everybody can be tainted, sometimes without them realising it.
And you'll find plenty of people very secure with themselves or very insecure on WrongPlanet.

anyone with any kind of handicap (like being on the autism spectrum) is MORE likely to be insecure than the next person- not less so.

Dont know why we would be either more, nor less "power hungry" than anyone else. Though we tend to be less manipulative than most nt's and hate both the roles of leader and of follower.

Overcoming being different from others can make a person more tolerant, or it can make a person more intolerant. Often both effects on the same person at the same time.

I can honestly say if I could acquire more power and wealth with little backlash I certainly would :)

I've seen so much arrogance here that I wouldn't put power hunger past anyone. A lot of that arrogance probably comes from insecurity too whether it's being insecure about one's ego, one's worldview, or both. Or maybe mental gymnastics made them flexible enough to have their heads that far up their asses, I don't know. I think we need to stop putting ourselves on a pedestal, we're not super rational cyborgs and I find it aggravating when any of us are expected to live up to this ideal. Even so called intellectuals assume I'm stupid just because I am interested in sports and train in MMA.

Arrogance is a survival trait like just about any other human emotion. Also arrogance is a perception. What some people would consider arrogance to others is highly confidence. In my experience, I do notice that a high percentage of aspies have the equivalent of small man syndrome. From the a motocycle mechanic who dictates how not to re attach a wet clutch, to two eggheads( they must be brothers) how often muon when customers put the book wrong on shelves in the charity shops.

Read the "If guns were illegal everywhere" post. It's illuminating.

Aspies are immune to nothing, in my view.

We are just as diverse as the population as a whole. We present many of the same strengths, weaknesses, virtues and vices as any other group of people. We may be different in how we understand and interact with the world, but we are no less human, and no less subject to human desires for all of that.

I only had to read the title of the thread to know you had a single digit post count!

Guess your not familiar with the Aspie God Complex.

Anyone can be corrupted. There may be traits to AS that might make it harder to corrupt, but power will corrupt everyone eventually.
