Me too, and I talk a bit slurred, sometimes pausing at difficult words or when I don't know how to express myself. I even stutter when I'm stressed or excited.

I normally talk too fast, especially when monologuing or nervous, I alo always move really fast. I walk very quickly and am always on the go. However, when I am in shutdown I often talk on the slow side and struggle to be verbal, I also move really slowly.

I lean a little on the slow side, to be sure the other person can understand me. When I'm excited though I've been known to blabber on at a fast pace.

I used to "naturally" talk very fast

but now I control myself to the point talking is always a calculated, well thought-out action
so now I talk at whatever speed I desire

I find it impossible to choose what to vote.

When I was younger I had a reputation for talking really fast. People would tell me to slow down or comment on my speed in a 'wow, you don't half talk fast' kind of way. But I can't remember how consistent that was or if it was just at certain times or about certain things.

Nowadays I can still talk too fast occasionally if I get really excited or if I have a lot to say about something (but not in the typical aspie monologue kind of way). I often get breathless if I try to talk and walk at the same time for example, because I still forget to breathe if I'm more interested in what I'm saying than what I'm doing. This mostly happens if I'm recounting an event or something to someone.

The rest (i.e. most) of the time I feel like I talk at a normal - slow speed. People rarely comment on my speed anymore and I don't generally have problems conversing with people. I have a hunch that my adult speed is at least partly learned though, in response to the reactions I got when younger. On the other hand, the idea of talking fast sounds pretty exhausting to me at this precise moment. I know I've done it in the past, but can't think why or how just at the moment.

Very fast and mumbling when nervous or monologuing, slow with long pauses to think when melting down...
I guess regular speed when I'm relaxed.

You forgot a key catagory for any aspies poll. Inconsistently.

It depends on what kind of mood I'm in. If I'm relaxed, I tend to talk slow, but if I'm angry, I talk so fast that people have to tell me to slow down. The speed in which I talk is everything inbetween slow and fast for me otherwise. That is why I couldn't answer your poll. I guess that is just another Aspie trait.

One more thing which is definitely an Aspie trait is talking very soft, everything inbetween to very loud as if I'm screaming at people as well.

I also talk too fast for my own good. Heck, there's times where I don't even understand myself.

I'm a fast talker as well. It's pretty hard to slow down for me.

I noticed that the mirroring is true for Aspies too: you will feel at ease if the other person is much like yourself. I immediately feel much more relaxed if the other person talks fast as well.

It varies, depending on how fast the ideas are flowing and how inhibited I am. It probably averages out to a normal speed, though.

I didn't know I talked fast until a recent report from an autism specialist pointed this out along with my quiet voice and lack of intonation.

I have been told I talk extremely fast. So fast in fact that in order to speak to people I have to pace myself where I feel like I'm talking down to people because I'm going so slow. While I'm speaking to them I am thinking "surely your mind doesn't operate THAT slowly!" Are you serious???

During highschool I moved from a slow talking U.S. region to a fast talking U.S. region (I could understand my French teacher better in French than I could in English) and was evaluated for a speech impediment. I adapted. Now I speak maybe to quickly, depending on your perspective.
