This has been posted before on several other threads, but I am in a successful relationship with another member of WP that also has Asperger's. What exactly would you like to know?

Well, I could tell you the story of Kyuuchan and I but it's already been told around fifty million times here and I'm sure everyone's tired of hearing it by now. :P

Hey, what happened to my post?

EDIT: Aw f*****g hell, don't tell me I forgot to click Submit... either that or one of the mods has a problem with my story telling. If that's the case I'd like for them to fess up 'cause this really pisses me off.

Well, short version: I met a guy on another forum. He was from Germany, I was from the US. We talked on Skype every night, visited each other several times, and eventually got married. We have a three year old daughter now. I'm not really sure if he's an aspie or just a BAPpy, but we understand each other - we're on the same wavelength, and we can solve problems without fighting, and things are good. :D

Solvejg, I would like to hear more about your story, unless you don't want to talk it about

I think I was successfully in love once. She bought me several shots of tequila and took me to her house and made love and when she passed out I snuck downstairs took the cocaine sitting on her coffee table and successfully left. That's love right?

and I love lamp!

now I just hope there is a sense of humor in this thread. :-)

On a stormy lonely day in january I received an invitation for a 18th birthday party, not really wanting to go I merely slumped around the house for a bit. That's when my brother noticed the invitation and told me to either go or be prepared to help him at the bar he owned. Begrudgingly I prepared for the evening, preparing some nicer clothes putting gel in my hair and practicing my fake smile for the hundredth time.

Once there I noticed that the birthday boy had booked a rather large hall for only 15 people most of which were guy's to my horror. Oh well it was time to get my party on. Loudly I entered the circle of guests proclaiming my congratulations to the birthday boy while making a few jokes, the evening of "fun" had started. It didn't take very long after that to get the party started since the last of the guests were starting to dripple in, while making small talk to one of the other guests I noticed that there was a lone girl standing a bit outside of the group, obviously very lonely. She wasn't an overly pretty girl like a victoria's secret model but she was good looking, so in my sense of male bravado I signaled her to come and stand in the group. Bewilderment went through the entire group, there was a girl at the party and a good looking one too, immediately she gained the attention of the bigger part of the group, while I went to talk to a few guy's that I knew.

Finally all the guests had arrived and the party actually started the music was turned louder, drinks were passed around and people started to dance in a very awkward sense. I saw the girl in question being hug with some newly arrived girls but also being hounded down by most of the party goers.

In all honesty the party was boring to say the least but it did provide one good opportunity, namely to save the good looking girl from another guest who had clearly had too much too drink. We talked and talked until eventually the party came to a stop, then came the goodbye's and a chance to ask for her phone number. But she had the same idea as me and asked mine first.

All in all it turned out to be a fun evening with a good prospect for the near future. I ended up dating this girl for a year until I broke it off.

While she had an enormous amount of feelings for me, my own feelings were more reserved and less in quantity until they eventually faded into nothingness.

This is currently the only story of romance that has happened in my life.

It was at college getting on the elevator. I did not know her seventeen years ago. I thought she was someone else. I made some tapes for this other person, and I thought she was someone else. But, she took the tapes with a thank you. She was in a German class I was teaching. I still didn't know, until after I put my phone number on the board for those needing extra help after class. She and couple of friends asked me to come meet them to practice German, so I went. She ended up needing a place to stay, so I offered the extra bedroom. She hasn't left, yet, and we have had four kids. She has been a very nice friend and wife. She has been very patient, and the kids put up with me, too.

I'm currently common law married to a great girl who is likely also in the spectrum(but unlike me does not have a formal diagnosis). We met through a mutual friend. We've been living together for closing in on 9 years now(and married for nearly 4).

There are some other positive new developments as well, but they don't really fit traditional sensibilities, so I'll leave it at that.

Met someone on OKC a few months ago who's perfect for me in every way.
This weekend, we're painting a room in my house so he can have his own study (he already lives with me)
and in December we're declaring our intent to be hitched. :D
