I'm interested in what people think makes them 'idiosyncratic', or what they would call odd behaviour. Post things that would stand out to NTs.

1. My clothes are arranged primarily by formality, then by colour.
2. I cannot find anything that isn't where it should be.
3. I have absolutely no idea how to behave on a dancefloor.

I can relate. I can't freaking dance. It's annoying, because I enjoy some dancing music, and I bob my head to it, but I do not have the slightest notion of rhythm, and I never danced in my teenage years. So it's a wholly alien concept to me.

Mine would be:

1. I tend to avoid greeting people, e.g. at work. I just figure that if they've seen me, they've acknowledged my presence, as I've acknowledged theirs. Words, in my opinion, are superfluous.
2. I have a rigid way of accumulating and processing knowledge, having a desire to look up certain encyclopedia entries and read certain books in a specific order, or else I'm afraid I'll 'miss things'. As a result, I get precious little done in the area of amassing knowledge.
3. In conversation, I only talk about subjects that are either emotionally charged (like depression, or one's purpose in life) or have some sort of cultural significance (art, history, science). I can't banter, and I can't talk about more frivolous topics.

1) I can't make proper conversation with people.
2) I have a hard time showing emotion.
3) Sometimes I'm a bit slow at what I'm going to say because I forget or it has to come to me because of my central auditory processing issue or I tend to talk to fast which makes me stutter and trip over words. Monotone voice as well.

1. My special interests are among the most important things in my life; and I become very moody/upset if for some reason I am unhappy with them.
2. I still behave much like a child, wanting to collect toys, cuddle with plushies, watch children's shows/movies, and just being emotionally immature in general
3. I have a verbal tic called palilalia, where I repeat my own words, parts of words or even entire phrases without meaning to.

1: I like to pick a date of birth in the past for myself, then predict when I'd join the military, where I would train, when I would get an assignment, what assignment I'd get (down to the platoon), and what battle I'd fight in (down to the particular set of ground).

2: I always wear t-shirt and shorts, and pretty much no other styles of clothing.

3: I can pace for hours while thinking about the most pointless things.

2. I seem to wear sports stuff a lot...... hey, at least it's better than drugs. Sports IS my anti-drug.
3. Like IdahoRose, I have that verbal tic that she has.

1. Tend to not like/care about/lose interest in people..
2. Incredibly bad at keeping relationships and being social
3. Bad at "surviving" in different situations, I avoid much and just go away while people are left behind curious.

There is much else but it can be accepted as just me being weird. And people can cope with weird people. They should, anyhow.

1: The more confident I am in myself, the less I want to talk to people.
2: I can't get groceries without threat sensory induced panic attacks.
3: I have a genetic condition that should have me in constant pain, yet I am not. (Pain and autism is a weird thing.)

ONLY THREE?! ! I could come up with 30. Jeez...OK. I'll try to limit it...

1. My incessant list-making -- Besides the normal grocery and to-do lists, I've imagined owning my own magazine and have listed the sections the magazine would have; I've written out in detail the tenets of my own religion; and I once spent an hour at work listing all the reasons I hated the guy in the cube next to mine.

2. My "stimming" -- My most common one is rocking back and forth, but I also click my fingernails and bit my cuticles and shake my foot and twiddle my thumbs and wiggle my toes in my shoes and stroke my skin, which leads to picking my skin because the stroking finds flaws in the way of bumps, zits and scabs.

3. My almost complete lack of success with men -- I didn't date in high school OR college (well, once), and almost never get asked out at work, even though there is plenty of opportunity because I work in a customer-focused environment. I'm terrified of saying "yes" even on the few times I have been asked out because I'm worried that I've misunderstood the man's intentions and he didn't want to go out. Maybe he was just flirting and I took him seriously. Maybe he was looking for a babysitter or a date for his father or getaway car driver. I'm semi-comfortable talking to them on a one-on-one basis, but the first time he sort of acts interested, I start getting freaked out. I have had a couple of boyfriends, but only because they pursued me more than most others have.

1. Can't follow spoken directions well, so I often appear stupid.

2. I can't converse without a "script" to follow, so I appear normal and friendly the first time I'm introduced to someone, but when I encounter them again I just go blank. This confuses them greatly, because they can't figure out why I'm so unfriendly all of a sudden.

3. I like to play with my hands a lot--like the way my knuckles undulate when I bend my fingers one at a time, crossing and uncrossing them, etc.--and I never noticed until just recently that almost nobody else does this.

1. After first few sentences of speech with (especially newly met) people it becomes obvious I am not normal.

2. Impulsive to a fault in many areas of life, this has inevitably led into adventures both good & terrible.

3. I can spend vast amounts of time obliviously hiding out at home, creating or just wandering the beautiful, dreamy lands in my mind.
