Do you use the website Stumble Upon?

I find that it's a great way to explore your current interests and to find new ones.

Try Tim Burton movies! Nightmare Before Christmas, Corpse Bride, Alice in Wonderland, and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory are great if you're into more family-friendly stuff, while Sweeney Todd, Sleepy Hollow and Dark Shadows are great for darker/more mature movies. Not sure how I'd classify Edward Scissorhands, but most people can agree that it's a classic (it's actually the movie that jumpstarted my Tim Burton obsession). There's also Frankenweenie that's coming to theaters in October.

Another interest I'd recommend is cartoons. In my opinion, the best cartoons that are airing right now are My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic (my biggest obsession besides Tim Burton movies), Adventure Time, Regular Show and Gravity Falls.

Music. Listen to a variety of bands and performers on YouTube. You might end up with a favourite artist or band by the end of the day. 8)

One word.

"Cybersecurity".

Develop a really big fantatically aspie obsession with cybersecurity.

Major in it in school.

Then when you graduate you will be able to make tons of money.

Go to the library. Pick up books that look interesting (fiction or non fiction) and read a page in the middle. If it's appealing, check it out. It doesn't cost anything if you return it on time and more information about a subject is always more useful than less information.
Plus, the library is the BEST (and probably most democratic) thing in the world. Learn anything you want. Most libraries are even linked with other libraries in the state/region and you can request and hold books from any one of them at your branch. That is seriously wonderful!

Well... instead of suggesting something I would like (usually technical stuff or history), I'll ask a question instead. What sort of things normally interest you? If we know that, then perhaps we can suggest something that would be a good fit for you.

Actually, based on my experience, special interests can be pretty random things, even things you normally wouldn't be interested in.
For example, I was obsessed with Linkin Park for quite a while during middle school, and before that, all I would listen to was classical music.

I completely agree. If you had told me when I was a child/teenager that, as an adult, I'd stop obsessing over anime and start obsessing over live-action movies and Western animation, I would have laughed at you in disbelief. "I'll never stop being an anime fanatic!" I would tell myself as a child/teenager. "Live-action is for boring people and Western animation is lame! There's no way I'd ever be into that."

And yet, here I sit in my early 20s, surrounded by dozens of My Little Pony toys and my shelf lined with Tim Burton and Johnny Depp DVDs...

Only when the time comes you will find another interest even if you associate with another person that has something interesting like I did and got interested as well. Apparently it isn't in your stars at the present time. My new interest are door closers because I love the way they move and work and love working with these new mechanical devices. 8)

Interesting! Mine have almost always followed similar themes so I assumed everyone else did that as well.

Sometimes, you just have to happen upon it, and find a spark. Go with the flow!
