I may need a DVD website translated?

Cheers.

Thanks for deciding to come to my aid! Much appreciated.

What's the procedure for shipping to the UK from this website?

http://www.hepsiburada.com/

Do they need extra ID for me being a non-Turkish resident?

Also, Gala Film - are they a decent DVD distributor? I'm looking at their Yılmaz Güney collection and need to know if the transfers are decent and in their original aspect ratio? I've emailed the distributors to ask them if all the discs in the set have English subtitles. Reason being, I really want to see Duvar (there is a French DVD by MK2 that's anamorphic widescreen but no English subs). :)

And thanks again.

They use Geopost for shipping to other countries. You can manage it from ''kargo hesapla'' button after adding the product to your cart. Choose ''İngiltere'' from the tab. I couldn't proceed further since I have my own address registered. It seems English subs are not available.

Why don't you try this site: http://www.sentinelsteel.com/TurkishDVD_A.html

I would have done so if hepsiburada was not an awful lot cheaper. Hepsiburada is around US$6; Sentinel is US$20+.

Also, it seems that English subtitles are on Gala's release - I've e-mailed Gala to ask them whether this holds for all releases in the set.

Ah, my love of the obscure...

Heh, you forgot shipping. For hepsiburada, add extra 15 $ for shipping to UK.

Take a look at this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cholera_Street

That a flat fee? Or is it per DVD?!

If it's a flat fee, it's not a problem. I'll just make it a big order and hope HM Revenue and Customs and Royal Mail don't sting me with a vast charge.

Have you heard of a film called Çirkin dünya? I really want to see it but can't find a decent uncut copy in its original language with English subs anywhere. I also want to see Cellat and others like it but it looks like I'll have to download it from somewhere - the one-man band that distributed the film (only 500 copies were ever released) died a year or two ago.

For 1 DVD, shipping: 15 $. For 10 DVDs, it becomes 30 $ approximately. No flat fee. It seems there is a fixed shipping cost for any kind of product and for additional products you have to pay more.

I haven't. It seems it is difficult to find English subtitles for them. I wish you good luck in your search.

I have a question if you don't mind: How did you learn about those movies and what makes them so... important?
