Starting the year good, but then dropping off?

Does anyone else usually start the school year getting what you would consider good grades for yourself, and then sometime in the middle of the year, your academic effort drops off? I always do this, and since I'm starting my junior year tomorrow, I was wondering if anyone else does.

It varies from class to class for me, but in general yes my grades are usually noticably better early in a semester than they are later in the semester. Most people are the other way around but this is not that uncommon either.
