I think it should be legal, but I thought it would be interesting to see what others think. I find it unfortunate its illegal in my state now....oh well maybe people can vote it to be legalized again in the state.

I suppose I can see how it would be risky...considering from what I hear a lot of people try to treat salvia like cannabis, when its a heavier psychedelic. I think that could be the main reason for a lot of negative experiences, I can see how it would be uncomfortable if you aren't expecting very intense effects. I found it to be a good experience but I was only able to try some low quality so I imagine with higher quality salvia the effects would be more intense and maybe last longer.

However that aside its not exactly physically damaging like alcohol or cigarettes...though smoking it probably can cause physical damage, but as far as I know it does not have to be smoked. Anyways I am generally of the opinion psychedelics when used with respect are a great thing, even if it is just salvia. so I think a better approach is giving people accurate information about drugs and since chances are people won't stop using them how to be as safe as possible about it.

So should it be legal or not, and why if you feel like explaining.

No. We have enough illegal substances out there, and I'm not convinced that salvia is more destructive than cannabis.

No drugs should be illegal. Who is government to say what we can or can't put in our bodies?

It's not even working anyway.

No, do the regular tests and then decriminalise the lot.

The government has to pay for you when your health deteriorates.

I think it makes sense to keep some things illegal. I mean, nobody wants asbestos to be available on the NHS, or highly concentrated hydrochloric acid, or nuclear waste, or something like thalidomide (I'm aware thalidomide is now used in cancer treatment and sometimes leprosy). I don't think that just because a substance can be used recreationally that the normal rules suddenly stop applying.

I'd legalise most recreational drugs though, and have controlled studies into many of the more dangerous ones like cocaine and heroin to find out the safest way that addicts could be treated. I'd also decriminalise possession, though not supply in exchange for goods.

Disband the NHS in that case.

Am I sick for laughing at the idea of going to Boots to pick up some asbestos and some nuclear waste with your hayfever pills and hand cream?

Who do you want to own your mind and body? You or the government? My answer is obviously no.

If they make salvia illegal they should make marijuana fully legal afterwards.
