Ya know, I love certain songs, but I have no idea what some of them mean! If you have a song that you don't know what it means, post it here!

HOSHI no ICHIBYOU by EUROX (From a 1984 anime called Panzer World Galient)
To tell the truth
I am never that strong
Though I'm not what I appear to be
Don't get me wrong, never that strong
Talking to the daisies
One day at a time
I fall into a doze
Full of tears in my eyes
But I know I know for sure
It's no use crying all day long
So I dream a happy dream
And dry all the tears that I shed
I never cared where I really belonged
And what I could for my land
But now I see that I am completely grown
I'll forever be where stand
'Cause I am a man, Who adores this land
If I were to sacrifice my life to God
I would tell Him that I'm really glad
'Cause I know I know for sure
He and I have got the same design
So I'll always be a happy dreamer
No matter what it costs
(repeat first two stanzas)

I don't understand the lyrics to the theme song from the movie Charade, but I can easily listen to it over and over and over and over and over and over and over ...
When we played our charade
We were like children posing
Playing at games, acting out names
Guessing the parts we played
Oh what a hit we made
We came on next to closing
Best on the bill, lovers until
Love left the masquerade
Fate seemed to pull the strings
I turned and you were gone
While from the darkened wings
The music box played on
Sad little serenade
Song of my heart's composing
I hear it still, I always will
Best on the bill
Charade

I have so many songs I wonder the meanings to; it's hard for me to decipher them.

To be honest, I think the song the OP quoted is either terribly translated, or terribly written.
But to give it the old college try:
The first few verses seem to be the singer saying they're not as strong as one may thing.
It then goes on to a nonsensical verse, that I think is trying to express their sensitive side. Following that, it says that the singer knows that such indulgences are just that, indulgences.
The song then goes off on a tangent about how they used not not care about their place in the world, and now they do, and are willing to die for god and country.
So to summarize:
I'm not as strong as you think.
I'm sweet and sensitive.
It's useless being sweet and sensitive.
I didn't used to care about things other then me. Now I do.
So I'll happily kill myself in the name of god.
I'm not as strong as you think.
I'm sweet and sensitive.
... Hence why I think it's either really poorly written, or really badly translated, because it comes out as complete meaningless dribble when entirely put together.

"The Wieght".
A song that I was shocked to learn was NOT written by Dylan, but is a folk rock standard of the Dylan. THAT is a song I challenge any and all comers to try to decipher.
Its very Dylanesque in its mixing of Biblical and american old west imagery.
Ill have to look up the exact lyrics. But everyone over a certain age has heard it many times on classic rock radio being done by the band or by the byrds ( its on the soundtrack album of Easy Rider).

It is very disjointed.
In the first paragraph the singer tells you that "despite what you think- I am NOT a tough guy, but despite NOT being a tough guy, Im not a tough guy either, And despite what i just told you-that I am neither a tough nor am I a tough guy,- I am actually NOT tough guy!"
Could be a faulty translation.
But when you get to the end of the song i guess he is saying that he sweet and sensitive, but is willing to die for god and country- so that gives him strength-or something.
The theme of "Charade" isnt quite so cryptic. It means that the singer and other person acted out a charade of love. It was never real-but the illusion was so alluring that the singer is mourning the end of the illusion.
Here's one I could never figure out. I love the song musically, but I honestly don't even know if the lyrics are even supposed to mean anything lol. Here's a link to the actual song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uI62hSFBxZ8
Bon Iver - Beth/Rest (lyrics courtesy of www.songmeanings.net)
errant heat to the star
and the rain let in
the hawser rolls, the vessel's whole and Christ, it's thin
well Iʼd know that you'd offer
would reveal it, though it's soft and flat
won't repeat it, cull and coffers that
for the soffit, hang this homeward
pry it open with your love
sending lost and alone standing offers
it is steep, it is stone
such recovery
from the daily press, the deepest nest, in keeper's keep
all the news at the door
such a revelry
well, it's hocked inside of everything you said to me
it was found what we orphaned
didn't mention it would serve us picked
said your love is known
I'm standing up on it
aren't we married?!
I ainʼt living in the dark no more
it's not a promise, Iʼm just gonna call it
heavy mitted love
our love is a star
sure some hazardry
for the light before and after most indefinitely
danger has been stole away

below is a neat story about the origins of the beatles tune "fool on the hill"-
it turns out that the song "fool on the hill" has an "etymology" that is quite complex, but is rooted in a weird paranormal incident when paul was walking his dog [named martha] atop primrose hill overlooking london, and as he watched the sunrise, he noticed martha went missing. paul looked around for her when he encountered a strange man wearing a belted raincoat- the two exchanged pleasantries about the sublime view of the city atop the hill, then paul turned away from the man for an instant, and when he looked back the man was gone, which was strange because the nearest trees were hundreds of feet away and the man could not have run that far that fast. then again, since paul was at that time a heavy user of mind-altering weed, it could just have been that his perceptions were up in smoke.
so that is one part of the fool on the hill, the original impetus for lennon/mccartney to write it down on paper. the other part of the fool has to do with george and his veneration of the maharishi, "head in a cloud, the man of a thousand voices talking perfectly loud" [IOW the hindu religion has been referred as being made up "of thousands of gods/voices"]- and when george tried to get paul and john to share his interest, he was met with indifference ["but nobody ever hears him, or the sound he appears to make, and he never seems to notice..."], IOW john and paul weren't listening. so i am gathering that the maharishi was indeed the major part of the subject of "the fool on the hill."

This song is actually a poem written during China's Tang Dynasty. A teacher once told my class that no one has ever succeeded at figuring out what the poet was trying to say through this poem. (Warning: My own translation is highly unreliable.)
I can never understand why the zither has fifty strings.
Every string and every fret remind me of those glorious years.
Zhuang Sheng dreamt that he was a butterfly one morning.
Wang Di dedicated his heart to cuckoos one spring.
When the moon is bright, pearls in the ocean shed tears.
When the sun is warm, jade in the ground produces smoke.
I should have preserved this romance as a memory but I did not do so because I had already confounded myself back then.
My own interpretation of various songs...
To equestriatola: "My nation will be ruined sooner or later. I have already cried so many times because I worry about my nation's fate. I decide to numb myself by acting optimistic. Since God has already foreseen my nation's downfall, I can't possibly oppose God's plans. Nevertheless, I'm willing to sacrifice myself for my nation even if it has never truly acknowledged me as its citizen."
To eric76: "We pretended that we were in love to impress the people around us. You dumped me as soon as you found out that I had really fallen in love with you."
To naturalplastic: I suspect that Americans might have a slightly easier time deciphering this song because it contains so many references to the Old West. I gave up.
To Stargazer43: I'm sorry, but I gave up on this song too.
To all: This song has stirred up some sort of debate among China's netizens because of its tone. In your opinion, is it a happy song or sad song? (Background info: This song is actually a song written during China's Tang Dynasty. No one knows its original melody so modern songwriters transformed it into some sort of pop song while retaining its lyrics.)

Hills overlap hills.
Gold flickers, sometimes bright; sometimes dim.
Her cloud-like tresses conceal her sweet-smelling snow-white cheeks.
She woke up lazily to paint her eyebrows.
She took a long time to wash up and apply cosmetics to herself.
She admired flowers through mirrors--she had placed one mirror in front of her and one mirror behind her.
Her flowers and her face reflected each other.
She wore a newly ironed silk dress embroidered with a pair of golden partridges.

Here's another song I want to know the meaning of:
Heaven Only Knows by Richard Marx
I watch the world go round and round
And my life goes by at the speed of sound
I walk the night and I wonder just where I belong, oh
My heart is young but my soul is old
I've never been one to do what I was told
My back to the wall is the only place I can feel strong, oh
Heaven only knows what lies before me
Heaven only knows what all my searching is for
All my life, I've waited for a miracle
But I can't ask for anything more
I like to think I'm a faithful man
To resist desire and do all I can
I hope to die in the arms of the woman I love, oh
Heaven only knows what lies before me
Heaven only knows what all my searching is for
All my life, I've waited for a miracle
But I can't ask for anything more, no more
I've always wondered how to know right from wrong
Looking for a reason to replace what is gone
But somehow the road just seems to lead right back to me, to me
Heaven only knows what lies before me
Heaven only knows what all my searching is for
All my life, I've waited for a miracle
But I can't ask for anything more
Heaven knows
Heaven knows
Heaven knows
(fade out)
