and i dont feel like i'm suffering.
sure, it causes a few problems, but then nts have problems too. i suffer from ocd, social phobia, general anxiety, noise anxiety, used to have hyperactivity, too, but that was fun. and probably other things i forgot... because i'm so used to them.
all in all, i'm not hurting. i almost fell apart when my cat died. i most certainly didnt fall apart because i'm an aspie.
anyone else feels like that? that it's really not so bad? some things in my life bother me, but they're not asperger related. if all i had to deal with was asperger... i'm fine.

I like being an Aspie. Although it causes me many problems, the few extreme problems faced by Neurotypicals seem much more off-putting to me.

The problems I refer to are:

* A pervasive, overriding desire to conform to everyone around them.

* An inability to say what they actually mean.

* An intolerance of anyone and anything unusual,

* An extreme reliance on constant social interaction.

* Delusions of superiority over anyone different.

My AS makes me mature, intelligent, and logical too. I'd rather have AS than not, in fact, I'd rather die than be "cured".

I don't like having to live in a World built for people very much unlike myself, other than that, I like it.

I love having Asperger's Syndrome. I wouldn't be the same without it.

I wouldn't want to not have AS, because it's most of who I am" having said that, I just voted for it bothers me a bit, because it does.

I want to be me, but I want to be able to make more friends, look people in the eyes properly without practice, pick up on the double entendres in the speech of today without over thinking it. I don't want to loose my perception of the world.

I don't mind having AS, because it's a part of who I am. I have a unique way of looking at the world. :)

For the most part now, I am at peace with what I have, despite my problems.

I don't mind being diagnosed with PDD-NOS. I mind the stigma. I sometimes even mind the disability behind the diagnosis. I don't mind the diagnosis. In fact, I don't give a whit about it.

The confusion I have can be pretty overwhelming sometimes, and there's moments I think I want to live in the nypical world, but... I'm glad to have answers to myself more than anything else!

Taking away the AS would be taking away a huge part of who I am.

It colors everything I do, and everything I perceive and interact with, but that is not a bad thing.

One of the good things is insight into myself and why I do certain things (someone once called that being "overly introspective", but whatever...). I see so-called "normal" people around me who seem to act without thinking a lot of the time. While certain things should be more or less automatic that aren't for me (like driving 8O ), living one's entire life like that just seems...wrong.

If Aspies have ever been characterized as "robots"...that's just laughable, actually. It's more like the other way around sometimes, IMO.

So, I am actually quite happy with it. :) The biggest problem is getting drained from social situations (like work), but I can deal with that okay.

I'm hyperactive and it can be fun. People like me more, I love exercising, I can motivate myself enough to do some chores. But then it becomes uncontrollable and I exhaust all my energy quickly.

I'm the same way about my autistic symptoms. I like having routines because they make it easy for me to be organised and plan for the future. My intense interests help with my research and writing. My sensory issues are awful built sometimes feel like a super power when I hear, feel, taste things more intensely than other people.
I developed social skills but still have that confusion and alienated feeling. These days I refer to myself as a character from a book than a regular person.
The repetitive stuff gets on my nerves but I suppose it's not too bad.
I love having an attention to detail and using that in art.

Meltdowns are not fun.

So there is good and bad. I'm unemployed but I'm writing a book to hopefully get a bit of money. I just want to know that I can earn money rather than needing to earn money. I'm on disability and dependent on others, while having more responsibility than I did before.
I'm called the animal whisperer because I get along with animals that have been known to be untrusting to humans.

Autism is me. ADHD is me. There are parts about them that I hate and do my best to deal with, and there are parts I like and can offer me an advantage.

I have pretty crippling anxiety too. I even think there is good in anxiety. It gets me motivated to do things. To get my act together, as they say.

It bothers me a bit, but i think it is comparable to having asthma. It limits certain things, but I do not feel it is the end of the world.

It's annoying, since I cannot have my needs (i.e. dating, relationships, etc) satisfied without an egregious amount of effort. Other than that, I'm cool with it.

I'm a little bit indifferent about Asperger's. It doesn't bother me, there are obvious problems, but there are also perks.
