I live in NC and ever since I was 13, I've been doing "online dating". I'm 16 now. I started with a chatroom like site but it was filled with creepy people. Then, I made an account for the site meetme (used to be called myyearbook). I met several girls on there and had a long distance relationship with 2 of them (one of them lived an hour away from me and the other one lived in my city). I started doing long distance with the girl who lived an hour away from me last year and she seemed to really like me and I told her I wanted to meet up with her. I would've but I don't have a license and my parents are wary about me meeting up with people online. I did get her skype though and I skyped her a few times so I know she's legit. Then we stopped talking and I re-added her on facebook. (This was back in August of last year). And so I messaged her on facebook and the conversation basically went like this.
Me: hey
Her: hi :)
Me: whats up?
Her: nm. u deleted me on here.
Me: i know. i'm sorry, i thought u hated me.
Her: i don't hate u. ur my favorite person in charlotle
Me: oh

Then I deleted her again. In March of this year, I added her again on facebook. I gave her my number and she texted me. I told her I felt sick and she said why and I said because i ate a lot of food. And she said "sorry babe". Then we started doing the long distance thing again a month later. In mid april I talked to her on facebook and i said to her "i love u so much *kisses u*" and she said "*snuggles closely to u and says i'll always love u cameron*" Then I was on skype with her and she said "are u gonna be mine for a long time?" and i said "yes ma'am i am" and she said "ur so good to me" A day later my friend came over and he met her on skype. The conversation only lasted for 5 mins. But the next day, she was telling me I was really hot. I almost met up with her but I had second thoughts. And I later found out that she already had another boyfriend while she was doing the whole long distance thing with me.

Basically, what I'm asking is how can I get to know girls that I know in real life better. How can I talk to girls without feeling nervous. How can I flirt with girls. And how do I know if a girl likes me.

Dude, I'd like to tell you there is an easy way in doing this.
But there's really not.
Anything worthwhile in this life takes work and effort.
You're just going to have to be strong, and overcome this.
My advice is to get comfortable with a girl first, i.e become friends,
go to the cinema, get to know her.
Then you make your move once your both comfortable with each-other.
Once you do decide to ask her out try to make sure you're alone with her.
It's much easier and less awkward in my experience.

Get to know her, buy her lots of chocolate. ;)

Seriously, though. Just be yourself. Get comfy with each other, and you'll know for sure if you like her or not.

Let me give you the advice I wish someone had given me, and that is to be open to girls one or two years older than yourself.

And with this girl, medium step by medium step, observing feedback along the way. That ping-ponging communication. And then, one just never knows!

PS hope you don't mind me responding here, saw your post on the main board.

Yeah, make friends first. Get comfortable. I like it if a boy seems bright (i.e.clever) and interesting (i.e. not dull).

Study this man. Partial-joking aside. I'm not really certain what to tell you, mate. I grew up in Charlotte too - And I never... really met any women of interest there. Nor in the city I'm in now, which is right on the outskirts of Charlotte. The main issue I have always had is the lack of a social outlet, a proper one. From /personal experience/ women have voiced an interest in me when I was /completely lethargic and apathetic/. I... don't know why. A guy who seems to have little fear or cares in the world seems to be something they're drawn to. But I'm not a female, so I could be wrong. Acquiring a diverse taste in music is a good choice too. Most girls love music - and if you like the same music as them. Bingo! You can use that. Read famous poets too and classical literature. They seem to like that too.

Speaking as a girl:
The thing that no one ever seems to tell boys is that honestly, most girls just like boys who are genuinely nice to them. Not necessarily everyone, just them.
If you like a girl, talk to her, joke around, show interest in whatever she's doing, compliment her. Invite her to do things, and just treat her like a friend for a while.
As for the flirting, the things that always clue me in to if it's going to be romantic are discussing deep or emotional topics, spending lots of time together, discussing relationships, doing things alone, stuff like that. Not him just telling me I'm pretty, though you can always go with that.
DO NOT:
buy her things, assume that she likes you, act like she's "yours" aka get possessive, or avoid her. also, don't make her do all the talking.
Hope that helps!

From your view, do most girls not like boys who are nice to everybody? Just wondering.

The best possible action in this situation is more practice.
The more you try, and by try I mean actually talking to girls, you will get better.
Girls are not something to be feared, rather something to be embraced.

Best Regards,

Jake

It isn't something you "Learn" It comes with time and age.
