I'm 19 years old, but I haven't physically matured at all in the past years. My skin is bright and thin, my bones are small and my face looks very childlike. Is this some kind of puberty syndrome or what? I'm starting to suspect that this might be the reason of my non-social life. Yup seems like the issue was my complexes, not an Aspergers syndrome. I don't think I can survive in this world being in such state, I never had any kind of support from anyone, just got scolded and called spoiled brat for doing everything wrong. Ohh and sorry If I posted this in wrong section, move it If neseccary.

A friend of mine years ago looked like he was about 12 when he was 19 or 20. He definitely doesn't look so young in his mid 50s.

A few years ago, I was at a college gymnastics meet. One of the gymnasts from one school didn't look a day over ten years old even though she was presumably more like 18 or 19. I never saw her again so I don't know if she still looks young.

I don't think there's any direct connection between AS and anything physical. Due to physical awkwardness and not having many friends you might not go outside as much as others or exercise much, which could explain being thinner and lighter-skinned than you'd expect to be. As for having a childlike face, there are worse things your face could have wrong with it. Not being the most attractive person around also generally doesn't stop people from having contact if they're socially skilled, so I wouldn't dismiss it all as being to do with looks alone that quickly. But there are more symptoms of ASD than not having a social life, so I'm sure you can look at those to see if the diagnosis is correct or not.

@eric79:I guess it depends, but I still feel uncomfortable around my age guys, they treat me like a freshman if u know what I mean. If I ever would find a job I guess I would get misunderstood even more often, maybe I wouldn't even get employed because of this reason.

Imagine being 50 years old and store clerks still asking for your ID for beer!

I was asked for my ID when buying beer once when I was in my mid 40s.

In that case, the lady at the checkout counter recognized me from previous visits to the grocery store and asked for my ID as a joke.

Every time it happens, I always think it has to be the last time.

I'm 19, and I still look like I'm 12-13 ish, so I can relate :/
I always get ID in my local asda for most things, it gets annoying

I still have the physical aspects of a 12-13yr old too, so I'm fairly short, very little facial hair growth and little muscle on my bones

But I don't mind it, because I still look young, while some of my old school mates look a little worse for wear! Haha

I cant grow facial hair at all. I look 10 years younger than I am, so I think you should consider feeling great about your current perdicament
Sociaty wants you to feel that way man. Sociaty is evil!

Up until I was 30, I could pass for my teens. Oddly, a mere 14 years later, I look my age. I have another friend (a guy) who is the same. Looked very young for many years and then all of a sudden started looking old. IOW, I do not think this will be a permanent state for you.

I would say it's normal, but if you think you haven't gone through puberty, you might want to see your doctor.

I recently read something about hormones. At puberty testosterone makes teenage boys start looking like adult males - broader shoulder and bone structure, body and facial hair etc. But when there is something wrong with the hormone, it doesn't happen. So, if you are worried, you might want to see a doctor about it and if necessary you might want to have some hormone suppliment. But I also heard that transformation from a boy to a man physically happens quite late for some males. And often young men (around early twenties) are still on their way to having real full facial hair, probably till around the age of 30. As I said, you might want to start with see a doctor first to find out what's happening to you.
