While I need privacy, I would not ever want to live alone. I enjoyed playing alone as a child, and I prefer to do things alone as an adult, but as far as a living arrangement, I would never want to be living alone.

Why not? I've lived alone most of my adult life. I lived with my dad for a few years in my late teens/early 20s, I shared a house for a couple of years while going to university, and when I moved to Edmonton (where I live now) I slept on my mom's couch for a few months until I could afford my own place. I'm 44 now, I live alone, and I can't imagine living any other way.

So, what is it about living alone that would bother you?

I can't imagine living anyway except by myself. Getting my own dorm at college because of my Asperger's was pure bliss. Having a roommate was pure hell. I love being by myself. Over the weekends, there will be days where I never leave my room, never see anybody. It's great. I don't get lonely.

I would like to live with a partner(and maybe a few children)who knows when to back off.

BUT,if I had to choose between living with my parents or living alone forever,I'd much rather live alone forever.

I could live alone but I really would like a partner - but the trying is getting to me - go off it - then some one say's "" I.e.: - My mother all you need is a girlfriend and you will be sorted out”

End up trying again - highly likely I probably will live alone - If I don't bump into someone who’s honest & open... Instead of the ones I bump into...

If you live alone you can distribute the housework more effectively.

I'm an independent person stuck in the body of a very dependent and needy child. I want to live alone, but it's not a viable option at this moment in time. Maybe one day.

i have had to live with roomates so far in college. my first roomate experience was just awful, but my second year i have different roomates and it is just ok. don't get into many problems with them, but i think next year i am going to try to have a single dorm and live alone for a couple of years. but when i am out of college i want nothing more than to move in with my boyfriend when we are married. before i met him, i had given up on finding that right person and had determined not to marry and was ok with the idea of living alone for the rest of my life. but he changed everything and he is the only person i would ever want or choose to live with.

I have a lot of irrational fears, have trouble staying awake on my own, and am sometimes even plagued by bizarre hallucinations as a result of extended periods of solitude.
So the answer is no.

Give me a couple of years and I no doubt would be able to live alone. I just need to get my social and personal development skills up to scratch first. I want to live somewhere within my town (preferably near where I live now) where I know people and they know me, and where I can reach the pub without too much strain.

I'm 22 now and have my own studio, i'm talking with my partner about living together but i'd rather live alone, never being able to be alone seems like hell to me.

You could say I live alone, but it surely doesn't feel like it what with apartmental neighbors around :x

But finances won't allow for my own house.

So there will be other people around for the forseeable future :?

I could probably deal with living alone, as long as i had an internet connection, but i'd prefer to live with a Dog (the kind with four legs) and maybe a couple of Cat's.

Living alone is pure bliss! Now, if I only I could get further away from my neighbors... :)
