When you say a word like "Minnesota" you tend to draw out the pronunciation of the "o" in "sota". Also the fact that you pronounce the "t" rather than the more common mispronunciation of "minn-a-soda"

It's almost as if you are drawling in the "o" and "u" sounds. This may be why some people think you might be from the south... Because there is a subtle drawl in how you pronounce certain vowels.

I might be completely off base here because this really isn't an area I know anything about, but those are my thoughts. It would be interesting to hear what a Canadian thought of how you speak.

Okay... I just noticed you're actually not that concerned about your accent, but I wrote this post and, darn it, I'm gonna post it!

You don't sound Canadian.

But some Aspies do tend to get lisps or speech impediments along with their Asperger's.

I wouldn't worry about it and just focus on awesome stuff.

If it really bothers you, you can always go to a speech/language therapist.

You do sound like a Canadian... from the east coast, not the west coast. :P

you do not sound Canadian at all (i am Albertan and have lived on the west coast). i worked in a call centre for years so i heard accents from all over. your vowels when you say "accent", "Canadian", "have", "another", etc. are distinctly American.

also, why is this thread in Love & Dating?

Ok. I keep telling everyone not to worry about my accent or my topic of the video. The reason I put this in ''love and dating'' is because I talk alot about love and dating subject. I just want to show people here what look like and sound like.

Well, in your video you may seem a bit intense [1] or twitchy [2] but I'm chalking that up to the fact that you're speaking into a camera rather than to a person.

[1] It's loaded given this is a recording, but you seem to have an intense gaze.

[2] The way you move your head and emote in concert with what you're saying. As above, this is probably how you're interacting given a lack of feedback.

billiscool has posted a lot of threads in Land D wondering why he isnt having much luck with girls. I believe this is indirectly related to love and dating because he is showing us his video in hopes that we can give hm feedback on whether his looks , voice or general demeanor are what is turning off the girls
