Hi all,

Alex the administrator has kindly given me permission to post here and ask if any adults (18+yrs) with ASD would like to complete my 15min online study on ASD, identity and self esteem. It's part of my doctorate in clinical psychology at UCL. Four people are chosen at random at the end for £50 Amazon vouchers and all answers are anonymous. If you would like to take part please private message me.

Thanks!
Hannah

I am going through the diagnostic process now but not yet got my results. So if it won't mess with your statistics, I would like to participate in your study.

I'm willing, though I can't guarantee that my answers will fit in with any theories, as I'm always the "different" one wherever I go.

How many people do you need to take the survey? And is it necessary that we have been diagnosed?

Hi all,

Thanks to everyone who has messaged me or posted so far.

Some of you have been asking if you need a formal diagnosis and I thought I'd post the answer on here for others. You do not need a formal diagnosis as we have included an autism screening tool at the beginning of the survey for precisely this reason. If you are fairly confident that you do have an Autism Spectrum Condition, with or without a diagnosis, then please feel free to let me know you would like to complete the study.

Thanks everyone,
Hannah

I haven't been formally diagnosed with AS, but would love to help out.

Thanks John, I've PM'd you the link.

If anyone knows anyone with ASC who hasn't seen this post, please feel free to forward them the link. You've all been so helpful and I need as many people as possible to complete the survey.

Thank you!

I'm also interested, I live in the US though. Does that cause a problem?

Hi Telephonoscope (and all of you),

It doesn't matter where you live. The ethnicity section at the start is a little biased towards being British (e.g. White British or Black British as options) but there is an option for each section where you can tick 'other' (e.g. 'Any Other White Background') and you write in the box your ethnicity - for example 'White American'.

Thanks to all who've completed so far!! Telephonoscope, I'll PM you the link.

Best wishes,
Hannah

I thought by ethnicity that they were talking about your ancestry. I think I said I was an Anglo-Czech mix, although I live in the USA. Is that wrong?
