In this economy, job hunting is a frustrating, stressful and often long-term process. This probably isn't what you want to hear, but six months isn't really an insanely long time to be looking for work. But it's still exhausting and frustrating.
I've heard that most vacancies aren't actually advertised. To look for these jobs, you would research organisations in the field that you're interested in. Make a list of them and their contact information. Then you would call them, and politely ask to speak to the person in charge of hiring. Then, when you talk to the hiring person, tell them that you are interested in working for them and describe what your qualifications qualify you to do. This is a daunting prospect for those on the spectrum, but apparently a lot of people get interviews that way, and it tends to be more successful than replying to job advertisements.
Also, part time volunteering can be a good way to build up experience you can talk about on your CV and in a cover letter. Look for volunteer opportunities in the field you want to work in. This is a good idea if your CV lacks work experience.
