I was diagnosed officially last week from University IL Chicago Autism clinic. I was also diagnosed as having mild Ataxia, which has to do with the brain's ability to deal with balance and coordination. I now go to a mental health center for services but since I'm moving soon I won't be eligible to go there anymore after the end of June. I'm moving April 1. I don't really want to go to another mental health center, since I now know I don't really have mental illness. But I need some case mgmt assistance and maybe a support group. Anyone know of anything in northern Cook County of IL? It's really hard to find these kinds of services for Asperger's.

By the way, I was first diagnosed with Aspergers 4 years ago, but it was from an intern at a mental health center, not from anyone that really knew much about Autism. So even though this is the second time I was diagnosed, this most recent diagnosis is a more solid diagnosis that can be backed up with facts dealing more with Autism than mental illness.

I got "unofficially" diagnosed today. Not a real diagnosis, but good enough for now.
