When I was younger I used to love christmas all the way up to about 17 or 18 but now at 21 i just don't care for it that much, I am not very fond of my extended family and don't really enjoy the overcrowded atmosphere and drunken retardedness that occurs around the table at my grandparents, even though I didn't want to celebrate it last year I just went anyway I doubt I will this year but I just want to know what other Aspies think and do you celebrate it or not?

I am okay with seeing my family it is just I don't want to stay for more than 4 to 5 hours. Also presents for christmas upset me if they are not what I wanted most. I also dislike wrapping paper why waste more money wrapping presents when you can just give me the present am I supposed to enjoy making paper so it has to go in the trashcan.

As a 44-year old breadwinner with three kids, Christmas is both a great time but also a huge stress factor. Financially, I have to make it all happen but its very hard to enjoy the whole process when you are the financial controller. On top of all that, I love the Christmas felling bu have no time for putting up decorations etc. Its a terrible imposition on my routines. I love it when January arrives

I see it as a day of the year in which I receive gifts, and as a period of the year in which I mustn't go to school. Well, that's the truth.

I just live through it by watching really gross horror movies in my room.

I hate it with a burning passion. If I could dig a hole and bury myself until January, I would. First of all, I have to relive the memory of my best friend being killed by a drunk driver on Christmas eve every year. Then there's the financial drain, followed by the sensory overload and family obligations. On top of all of that, I have to deal with the ridicule that comes along with being a Christian who does not decorate for Christmas. For the life of me, I cannot understand why I am the one who "doesn't make sense" because I refuse to celebrate a Christian holiday by hanging pagan objects all over my house!

I love Christmas..the lights, the tinsel, the food, the decorations.

:D
I get to wrap presents and cook with my daughter. I go into holiday routine mode at the holiday times.

I live alone so I'm not stressed to buy anything for anyone. Still, though, I sometimes think it'd be nice to go to parties and get togethers instead of sitting at home watching TV. Oh well.

I am sorry about your best friend being killed :( IMHO, if you don't want to decorate then don't decorate. If they are going to ridicule you then let them go pound sand.

I do have a question(s) though about hanging pagan objects. First, I'm not ridiculing you myself I'm just seeking understanding. You don't pray to these objects or worship them. You don't believe in the pagan religions or the pagan gods am I correct? To me, these things would have no meaning because I do not believe in these gods. All I would see is a tree, lights and just decorations. The symbolic representation to the pagan gods are not there for me.

I, myself, believe in Jesus as my lord and savior who died for my sins. My worship, my heart and my love goes to him.

My pastor said that celebrating holloween is a big no-no. I did not understand this though. To me, all the children are doing is dressing up and trying to obtain candy. I'm not mocking you I'm just trying to understand your thoughts and my pastor's thoughts.

I love it. I like putting up the stuff and I like all the decorations and the music. I don't care about gifts anymore. I would rather get candy and sweets or Wii points cards and if there were any gift cards for ebooks, I would want one of those too. I also like shopping for my son.

I used to love Christmas as a kid. That has changed now, the lights hurt my head after a while, and my parents are bugging me about what I want. I know a few things for a 'Christmas list' but most things I want are very inpracticle or impossible for them to get me.

It's too stressful of a time and too bright with the damn Christmas lights.

I dont like it

I have to see my extended family and they all think im ret*d or something.
one year someone started a rumor that I killed a bunch of my uncles chickens, people believed it too and it followed me around for years my uncle even said I had nothing to do with it. all becuase I was the first to discover a fox had gotten into the coop when visiting one day

also my close family always ask what I want for Christmas and I never want anything.
