Do all people with ASD stim?

My brother who has asperger's stims all the time, but what I want to know is do all people with ASD stim. Is it rare to not stim if you have ASD?

I think stimming often takes on a broad definition to include any little thing a person may or may not do every so often. In that sense, everyone could theoretically stim.

But specific stimming is usually a noticeable, repetitive, and specific action. I don't think everyone with AS stims. It's also possible for a person to outgrow a stim, or only stim when in a specific situation, usually one that makes them feel socially uncomfortable, moreso than normal.

I think someone with AS is much more likely to stim than an NT. But I don't think stimming is a prerequisite for AS.

No but most of them do. Some of them only do it when they are stressed out or overwhelmed or anxious and only do it in certain situations.

NTs stim too in certain situations but apparently it's different for people with ASDs. Mine really shows when I am stressed out and it's apparently different or else my mother wouldn't have calmed me down so I stop. I don't always know I am doing it.

I read somewhere that 90% of people with autism stim. NTs do it when they are anxious. For me it's almost non stop, and becomes more pronounced when I'm anxious. The ones I do when alone are different to the ones I do in public, and I have two kinds, excitement ones and anxiety ones.
