As I recall, in the book the apes increased their ability to perpetuate their species with their tools and weapons the alien monolith taught them to make. Thugs with improvised guns tend to set themselves up for natural selection.

Wow, I have to diagram it all out.

Both images depict a fairly advanced mammal.

Both images convey a sense of violence and perhaps anger.

The poses of both mammals are similar in the body language.

The copy at the bottom offers a humorous galvanization between the two.

Funny that you are able to understand which way a doorknob turns.

Besides, it's probably meant to be a flash suppressor...

Whatever.
As much as I love AR-15's those AR-15 handguns are one of the dumbest developments in modern firearms history.
Really, to even call them a development is insulting.
