When you see an interesting Internet address printed in a newspaper, say, and are not having access to the net right that moment, you probably jot it down somewhere and check it later. When you type it manually on your browser, do you include the whole string starting with http://www or just skip it? I have found it impossible to skip this intro part, it just has to be there. What's more, I type it twice. First I delete it with the backspace key then type it all over again. It's quite OK when I'm alone but with somebody watching me is a little embarrassing.

I only type http://www when I'm going directly to a specific site link that requires me too. Not putting that part in my browsers actually doesn't work on certain site links I've seen some links that have something a little different than the http://www in the begging too.

I usually just type the name of the site... (google for example), and then press control and enter at the same time. That fills in the http://www. and .com automatically on Windows browsers. Not sure if that trick also works on Mac's or Linux / Unix machines, though.

I type the 'www' part. It annoys some people, but I have to do it that way. However, I'll try the buttons 'control & enter' as mentioned above and see what happens.

I used to do that a few years ago, but nowadays I just type the website name. Since the Firefox address bar searches on Google, there is no need to type the entire URL.

No, most browsers don't need it.

Usually. That's... if it comes down to me having to use Internet Explorer. That's rare.
