J-Pop a ton, K-Pop not much, because K-Pop is pretty much just American pop in Korean.

I am a huge fan of a J-Pop boy band, w-inds.

I also am a huge fan of a J-Pop band with the feminist overtones, Urbangarde.

I grew up listening to Seikima II and X-Japan.

I suppose that if I were exposed to more, I would probably enjoy it very much.

Not really a huge fan of either. I've seen a few K-Pop videos and think they're fun and reminiscent of the kind of bubblegum pop that's gone in and out of style over the last few decades. I have noticed however that its influence seems to have infiltrated Western pop culture slightly recently, probably owing to its greater exposure over the internet on sites such as Youtube, with groups like Girls' Generation, Hyuna, 2NE1 and of course, the incredible success of PSY.

Op Op Op- Open Condom Star!

Some J-Pop is ok, but I can't listen to K-Pop, I just can't! Heeey Sexy Lady! (dammit! PSY's music has buried its way into my brain like a tumour!)

While I listen to more western-oriented Asian music, and I haven't been exposed to all that much K-Pop yet, I do think that there are some groups out there that don't necessarily fit the bubblegum poppy boyband/girlgroup or ballad singer type that's so prevalent in the Korean pop charts. I'm partial to Clazziquai Project and Epik High, for example:

(And yes, Emi Hinouchi who sings the chorus is Japanese, but the MCs are Korean, as you can hear.)

Here is someone who doesn't like k-pop at all.

He raises some very valid points, but, in my opinion, at least the chicks are cute.

Japanese music seems a lot more variable.

Akino Arai - Tsuki No Le Quieter more contemplative music.

Toshiki Kadomatsu - Move Your Hips Funkier than probably 99% of stuff coming out of the US during the 80s.

MAX - Give me a Shake Standard 90s J-Pop, probably a bit more in the same vein as Korean pop today.

Move - Noizy Tribe Darkerish sounding pop, while still being pop.

And then with rock even, forget it, I don't know of much Korean rock at all, but Korea's certainly not come out with like an X Japan or something.
X Japan - Dahlia

These Japanese DJs I absolutely LOVE to listen to called Galactik Knights (sic) often incorporate both j- and k-pop into their mixes. I approve of both.

J-POP and K-POP are almost the same as Super Euro Beats without singing.

I did like this one song by Girls Generation. But to me the singers of K-pop are too thin! Gosh girls eat a Big Mac! No one likes to see your spine. Not really into K-Pop or any type of Asian music even though I am half Asian.

I am not interested in K-Pop.

I used to listen to much J-Pop/Rock/R&B a long time ago... But now I am not so interested in the recent stuff. I prefer the older stuff more.. I still like EXILE, but I prefer SHUN days 8)
