Happened to come across this accidentally, but apparently 80% of people who suffer with Autism have bent little fingers. My little fingers are really bent towards my palm and I wondered how many others with AS out there do.

Actually, it makes perfect sense to me imo . I was told by an Occupational Therapist that AS kids often have low muscle tone. My mum was told that I had bent pinkies because the tendons in them were too short, thus pulling them back towards my palm. Sometimes they cramp as well. I do not drive, so got no idea if I would have trouble over long distances, but my handwriting does deteriorate after longer periods of sustained handwriting as my hand becomes too tired. Not sure if my bent pinkies would have anything to do with that though? It hasn't stopped me from becoming a typist (about 75+ wpm), although it was more difficult in the days of the manual typewriter.

Yes I went to Camp Todactyly when I was young. They taught us manbearpig and unicorns are real and bent fingers cause autism. Damn I miss those rainbows and unicorns.

My left is significantly more bent than my right little finger. I don't know why, but maybe cause I'm left handed or maybe that is just a coincidence.

both my 4th and 5th fingers are straight do they have to be bent to be autistic ?

Straight pinkies here, too---until 1/25/2021.

One is bent because I fractured it running on 1/25/2021, and it didn't heal properly. No effect upon function.

I seem to be slightly clinodactyl.


But I have EDS and can do this

I don't have that trait - hyper mobility.

Nor do it's potential cause and consequence of hypertonia.
Nor do something like a part of Ehlers Danlos Syndrome.
