My name is Jennifer and I am 14 years old and I am autistic. I am diagnosed already by a child psychologist but soon I will also be evaluated by a developmental pediatrician . I live with my grandmother and she dose not accept or understand autism in the slightest and has no interest it. My special interests include medical stuff, dolls/stuffed animals, south park and the outsiders. However its mainly the first two (sort of).
I also love YouTube.

In school I am in the ninth grade in a resource class. I have some friends but I don't really talk a lot, more like listening to some of my friends having a conversation, also almost all of my friends I've know since elementary school. If I would have to point out the two biggest autistic traits that affect me are secretary overload and social skill issues as well as being clumsy. When I was little in school all I would do is read all day, so much in fact I would frequently get in trouble for reading during classroom time and having a meltdown when the teachers took it away.
Books were my path into the autistic world and I would not want to come out. I also do stereotyped movements from rocking back and forth to pacing.

Welcome to the Autism Community, Jennifer! My name is Safford, I'm 23 and have been diagnosed as an aspie since age 6. It is tough being an aspie, I think, more so for girls because you girls have such emotional closeness with your friends, and aspie traits (issues with empathy, conversation, isolation) can make that difficult. :roll: What do you think are the difficulties you face as both a girl and as an aspie? :idea:

Thanks! I am existed to be a part of the community.

Well first as being a girl people expect to understand social interactions and be able to talk better. It's like your always expected to know what to do and say and you never know what is a joke or sarcasm and something literal and serious. Also people assume all people on the spectrum are boys.

Hey Jen (can I call you that? If I can't then I am so sorry!) I'm Caitlin, 16 year old, self diagnosis (Don't judge me. My parents refuse to test me but I know I am and will probably confirm it when I am of age). I'm new on posting, but I've been looking around here for about two years and know you will fit in great! We got your back, girl!

Aw, you're so sweet! I wasn't even really trying to introduce myself but thanks town greeter!
BTW, the red guys name from cow and chicken is voiced by Charlie Adler. I used to love his voice.
Is it sad that I know both that he's from cow and chicken and even worse his voice actor?
