Welcome to the Autism Community, Jennifer!
My name is Safford, I'm 23 and have been diagnosed as an aspie since age 6. It is tough being an aspie, I think, more so for girls because you girls have such emotional closeness with your friends, and aspie traits (issues with empathy, conversation, isolation) can make that difficult.
What do you think are the difficulties you face as both a girl and as an aspie?
Thanks! I am existed to be a part of the community.
Well first as being a girl people expect to understand social interactions and be able to talk better. It's like your always expected to know what to do and say and you never know what is a joke or sarcasm and something literal and serious. Also people assume all people on the spectrum are boys.
