Ive got work experience coming up soon and I have no idea how I am supposed to cope. I am still waiting for confirmation, but it looks like my placeent will be in a pet shop. I have no idea what to wear or how to behave around staff or customers or just how to act in general. Its a while off yet, but I like to have everything planned well in advance, and since this is very big for me I have to plan it a long time in advance, because I have little sense of time(or distance, for that matter) and so it may aswell be next week for all I know. Im sur a few of you wil understand the need to plan, so please can you help.
Thanks
Adolpha :D

dress casually in a manner of somebody who will likely have to do some cleanup work in animal cages. speak only when spoken to. if a customer asks you a question which is outside of your scope of knowledge, refer them promptly to your superiors. if you do know the answer to a customer's query, confine your comments to the subject of their questions. set your alarm every workday, to an hour before the time you have to report to work, that should give you time to get ready/dressed/groomed/find transport et al. work the whole time of your shift, take breaks only which you have been granted [aside from restroom breaks]. spend some time in a petshop to get used to animals in general. spend enough time to see the animals full range of behaviors, this will clue you in as to whether or not you will be able to tolerate working there.

good luck to you! :)
