Donald Duck is usually portrayed as lethargic, unlucky and angry; is his characterisation in line with PTSD?

Nope, I wouldn't consider him PTSD.

Just a matter of personal opinion. I don't really want to explain it. :P

If we're considering diagnosis, explanations and elaborations are really kind of the alpha and the omega.

I don't think that Donald has PTSD because he hasn't really been through anything tragic. Unless the European comics took a dark turn that I'm not aware of...

Many people ( actual people-not cartoon ducks) are lethargic, and angry, and dont have ptsd.

But- exactly what trauma are you supposing that donald duck survived?

His warner brothers rival, Daffy Duck, survived years of being shot at by Elmer Fudd, and by other hunters.

Donald lived indoors away from marshes and hunters and never had to dodge buck shot. So Daffy Duck had more reason to have PTSD!

Let's keep in mind that Mr. D. Duck is hardly ever seen outside of his navy uniform.

I don't know what kind of horrors he saw, but he's always in that damned uniform, isn't he?

Maybe he was part of the Philadelphia project or was in Nam!

I don't think so, but Daffy may be.

According to a 1942 Disney animated short "Donald Gets Drafted", Donald Duck was in the United States Army during WWII. That could cause PTSD, right? Youtube has the footage, but wouldn't let me share it. :x

Oh yeah, he does wear a uniform doesn't he? I'm so used to seeing sailor-type uniforms on anime schoolgirl characters that it's easy for me to forget where sailor uniforms originally came from (the US Navy).

Maybe he really does have PTSD then...

Not everybody on WP is able to elaborate.
